I woke up in the middle of the night last night (stop saying "night" Irish...), weeping openly. My wife asked me what was wrong... I had a dream that I dropped my SSCC in a parking lot. After trying to buff out the scratches that were more like cavernous pits, I sent it to Corey who told me I was not responsible enough to own a CC anymore... Worst dream ever...
OK, so maybe that was embellishing a bit...or completely... haven't dropped it but every time I take it out of a pocket I focus my full attention on the act. Weird that the hardest version I have is the one I'm worried about. Weirder still, I know I don't have to worry about it. I've set it down on work benches at the office (where there's all sorts of metal shavings and other gritty stuff) and only the slightest of surface scratches are there on the bottom. My tungsten carbide wedding band put a mark on it earlier today that I'm sure will come off in seconds... I'll let everyone know...
TL;DR I haven't dropped my mod, so this whole post may be (is?) a waste of your time...sorry...

At one point copper, 7075, 7068, SS and now possibly titanium (?) were unobtainable in CC form, mods that one could only dream about until someone lobbied for them. With that in mind imma just throwing this out there...

I believe damascus is very susceptible to corrosion.....but I believe there is a version/process that makes it corrosion resistant.

Stainless Damascus is what I was thinking about for corrosion resistence. I'm not sure you'll find a billet that's thick enough to mill a mod from?? If you do I'm sure it will be very pricey....not sure we're at sterling silver pricey...but pricey.
