No saran wrap was involved in this production... lol.

It is hard to tell from the pic, but it kinda sorta looks like some sort of thin, clear-ish plastic wrapped around the CCs. I take it that is part of the bath mentioned above?

@inswva, they look like newborns! Beautiful job.

Well, y'all shamed me into cleaning my aluminum. I couldn't bear the thought of eliciting a Corey :( face. Yikes! I can't believe how dirty she got in just a few short weeks! Lesson learned: a quick buff 'n shine will follow every rewicking.

End results from tonight's spa session... not too shabby, I guess, considering the abuse the mods endure. And, the new 510s are worth every penny and then some. Best money I've spent in quite awhile.

.they look good. I may have to hang to brasso and see how it compares to beekeeper,s friend.

With the toothbrush and brasso does that remove the brush and start to polish? What are the pass you were talking about? I sunshine cloths but they last about one pass around the mod and need to be chucked out and the Cape cod will make a mirror shone if you press hard. And it's tough to get it all off. So beekeeper friend is the main thing for tech large maintenance right now for me. Maybe brasso is better? Have you used BKF?

Also I'm having trouble getting the damage off the top where the previous owner in defiance of any logic or forethought massively over tightened his atomizer over and over and over. I gave tried everything with manual power I have on hand. Two types of scrub pads. All polishing compounds and cloths and Lyra fine sandpaper. I can't get it ti base and I'm guessing I'm going to need a tool to do it. But I'd love any suggestions...

I was curious about what appears to be some sort of saran wrap technique in one of the pitchurs. Inswva?
maybe wax paper?

So aside from being deceived by the seller about condition and putting a ton of time onto it. I have been enjoying it now. And I have to say wow this mod is great. It's so great. I'm going to try to sell a few other things I own and buy another. Maybe two more. I have considered transitioning all of my tanks and gear to. It Tom feed. There are a few devices and setups I won't rid myself of. I tend to droo my mods exiting my car after forgetting they're in my lap. For that reason alone I'd feel nervous taking a $650+ setup out with Me. That said I'm not someone to buy some things g really nice and then trailer it around wrapped in bubbles.

I've pretty quickly decided I'd rather have three of these with some great flavor chasing bfa than 10 other mods (and I mean the good stuff, not unicorn poop good but high end) I've read ally fallen for squonking and but for maybe one or two tanks I just don't want to have a bunch of stuff bouncing aroundntsking space needing constant attention. Making a mess when I can have these beautiful things with my go to flavors and and ripper or two with a must have tank or two.

So the great liquidation begins in pursuit of a manáge. Lol.

@custom-classic I received my 510 and will install today if I can finally get the top fixed. Thanks very much it looks great! Also because I was introduced to your goods by a friend I don't even know how one gets on the list to order and choose options etc. The first post here just lists a price for three finishes but iirc you added a fair few options and you expanded things greatly since that post. Do you have a site now? Or how does it go? What's the wait time on lists and do we pay up front or at shipment? If there's a month or more lead time or something and payment is collected upon ship with a part deposit up front or similar I'd like to get on the list now as I'll be ready by the time you are. Beg borrow steal.

I have to unload a bunch of quality stuff so everyone cross your fingers for well-heeled flavor chasers who love temperature control and technology. :).

Wow that was long. I'm sorry. I'm excited and I have so many questions!!

I love mine , it never leaves my 6061. It doesnt ever leak, u can oversquonk and it drains completely and flavor is on point. I do have to rewick everyday though , prob the juice i vape and reduced chamber. Im gonna scoop another for a backup.

I've never used BKP, only Brasso. And, no, it won't remove the brush marks - it will only remove the patina and most dirt and grime. I followed the Brasso up with swipes of a Bear-Tex pad to sort of restore the brushed finish. Keep in mind my mods are used and abused. I have dings, dents, gouges, and scratches which won't be easily removed. Fully restoring my mods would require an intensive effort; an effort which is wasted time for me given how I use them.

Lookin' good Nathan, gonna have to do that soon myself :thumb:

NY drivers may inspire name calling, but Miami drivers must be the inspiration for road rage :-x
And Los Angeles traffic is probably the reason the second ammendment still stands. :sneaky:

That's a 1/4 bottle of Brasso metal cleaner. No plastic wrap but I can see how the pic looks like it. :)

I was thinking something similar about DC traffic!

Yikes... I grew up in the DC suburbs and traffic 25 years ago was horrible. Now, when I have the unfortunate occasion to get back up there, it's absolutely maddening. I-66 and I-495 are the devil incarnate.

Yep, me too, Bethesda. Remember when Dulles was out in the sticks?

I'm glad you got the parts. :)
No website. Just a google doc that is "The List". Right now, there is only about a 1 week wait for a Classic mod. The options are:

6061 Aluminum
7068 Aluminum
316 Stainless
6AL-4V Titanium

As Brian said, no monies until you're ready for me to ship. :thumb:

I can mark you down for a specific date in the future, if you like. Just lemme know what works best for you.

I'm glad you're finally getting a chance to enjoy your 1st. :D

lay a sheet of sandpaper on a flat/true surface (1/4" glass is nice); but a flat, hard cutting board will do. (just be sure the surface isn't convex)

invert the cap onto the sanding surface.

rub. (swirly motion . .. finish with straight-line if you want brushed look)

400, 600, 1200, 2K . .. then you can switch to your pads if need be.

. .. . is what I did once with my own lovely CC cap. (al-yew-minium . .. 6061)
