Hi all! Names John, I recently received a CC in a trade and am looking to learn all about them. Im no stranger to mechs and squonking so any tips/suggestions for owning a custom? Basic maintenance, cleaning, and things to really make her shine again?

What rda is that, John?

IPA alcohol to clean contacts. No ox id on contacts. Some use renaissance wax on the outside. Nothing excessive. A limited few have had black dots stay on positive silver, I think the finest sand paper you can find, 2000 grit or more is recommended there.

Scotchbrite pads to polish. Pad on bench, move mod across it in one direction

That is the solstice RDA(clone) using it until I can find a hadaly.... Only place I found with them in stock is Kidney and they want a photo of my ID.

Thanks for the tips! I'll have to give it a good cleaning today and grab some sand paper and scotchbrites. Although I think I have a new green one around the house somewhere. Right off the bat after using this for a few days I'm already in love, it hits hard, buttons awesome and the feel of it in hand is amazing.

No ox id you mean Noalox ideal right? That's good for the silver contacts?

...and ya know - THAT tells me nothing is wrong with vapor.
Ever see your cat raise it's tail like a middle finger and quickly leave the room when you lit up a cigarette ?
Now my cat just sniffs to see what flavor is going

This was done by combining equal parts White Vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide together then heated to a boil and applied with a Q-tip. Repeated the process til I got to this point and stopped :)

Holy moly Drifter, that is a beautiful job at patina(ing) on that CC. Also, always love to see those beautiful caps you make, sitting on your attys.

My cat likes Banana Cream Pie and Banana Pudding vapor.
He comes and sits right next to me when I have it going

We have one that loves my chai vape. She purrs, drools, and starts kneading my shirt. The absinthe juice, on the other hand...

A dabbling with pluid back in the day saw the cat wake my wife up from her nap (on the couch) so they could both leave the room (wife doesn't have a "middle finger" tail, but if she did...).

Good stuff there, D! :thumb:

A nice metal polish on a q-tip works well for shining up the positive contact, as well. :)

Ha! :D

Nice picher, Bull! :)

Yes, indeed! That's the stuff. Thanks, Ray! :toast:
