When I had one i just used a flathead screw driver to gently lift up an edge of the button...it pops right off. And you can always put it right back on.

p.s. Would you like to share a pic of yourself/family with us? we have a thread called The Real Us if you do...but it's not "mandatory" like pics of your Reos are:D

I think I want to remove my button, it turns to off position too easily. Anything I should know before I do it? Also can I put it back on if I want?

I am guessing you are talking about the button top on a metal REO. IF so, yes you can remove it. You can put it back on if wanted. When putting it back on you can use something to keep it from going down too much. A round toothpick should work.

I always turn the firing button to the "locked" position then just pull it off with my finger/thumb, but perhaps mine is a bit worn and easier to remove than a new one. Anyway, the big fire button is certainly one thing you want to remove ahead of bath time.

One of the first things I do when bathing the REO is run hot water down through the fire button area while moving it from "locked" to "unlocked" with the REO right-side up and then upside down 'til my fire button presses down easy and goes from "locked" to "unlocked" very easily/smoothly.
