Just came back from our July 1 celebration on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and I'm sure it will be the same for July 4 all over US. Big crowds and no smoke or (obviously) vapor. It is so socially unacceptable to smoke and vaping is so similar that I believe that these are activities that will be forevermore anathema to public society. Where does that leave us? Not in a bad place at all. The beauty of vaping is that it doesn't leave a big stink and we can do it without being caught. This is in my opinion the future. Forget vaping in supermarkets or classrooms. Get used to vaping in private locations: cars, bathrooms, offices, bedrooms. It could be worse―we really couldn't smoke in those places before without getting caught.
This is not the world where Andy Griffith smoked in Mayberry while counselling Opie.
