I would have posted this in a forum that would have been more relevant, but alas being a noob here I guess this is it. I hope this isn't a breach of forum protocol.

I received my Big Nasty mech today in the mail. Thing is an absolute stunner. It works with my kayfun Lite Plus, Trident V2, Aqua rba, Kraken clone...but not the Russian 91%. It's the version two, or "upgraded stainless steel" or some such thing.

The issue I'm having is the threads of the 510 grab each other and I get maybe a quarter turn and it stops. It won't fire. I think I could screw the adjustable 510 pins on both the atomizer and the mod so they'll make contact (both would be at their limits for sure), but that isn't a real solution.

Am I missing something or is this just the way it is?

Thanks all.

I just received the big one today also, and just put the Russian on, screws in no prob. Did you take the 510 cap off first then screw the Russian onto the 510 connector? Once that is done, it does have a float pin, push it all the way up to make connection, then screw or unscrew the batter contact screw on the bottom of the 510 connector, to adjust so that the 510 screws all the way in and make contact with the top of the battery. Kind of a pain to make it fit totally flush, but once adjusted looks sweet. Loving this mod!!

Just so you know Fred, the Russian 91% is a clone of the Kayfun. So it really is a clone. I love the Russian by the way, they made a few small changes that many consider is an improvement on the Kayfun design, but it's still a Chinese clone. That being said it's not too unusual for there to be minor machining issues. I think CRXess has it right and the threads may not be perfect and need to be chased with a die to make it perfect. The Big Nasty is a very well made American made mech and probably has excellent machining on the 510 connector threads to very tight tolerances. I have some other SS products from Tatroe and the machining is some of the best I've seen from anywhere. So chase the threads on the Russian and it should fit perfect.

I'm jealous of your Big Nasty and hope to get one soon. Let us know how you like it when you get everything sorted.
