tobacco cessation drugs and related products mean big bucks for Big Pharma...which forks over over billions of dollars on lobbying activities. They have a dog in the e-cigarette fight that's coming...and they will be in Washington lining a lot of pockets and greasing a lot of palms. Oh, the politicians will say it's a health issue or that it's "for the children" but it's about money. It is always about money. Most in D.C. could give a flying fig about your health. Just my opinion.

Pharmaceutical companies get their BIG money from selling the drugs needed to treat smoking diseases. Their profit from their ineffective NRT's is a drop in the bucket compared to cancer, emphysema, COPD, and end of life treatments. Also, they may be working on marketing a nicotine drug that will help people with dementia, ADD, ADHA, Parkinsons, Crohn's, etc. and don't want the cheaper, more enjoyable, vaping competition! Good ol' business practice to want to "corner the market" and be a monopoly.
