So i just started with ecigs, im an electrical engineer whos not new to vaping so im not completely in the dark here

I have the Innokin itaste 134 and itaste 134 mx-z and with the iclear30 and kanger areo mega i love these mods but my local head shop cashier (specifically there for ecigs and mods) convinced me that the kanger areo turbo would be the ultimate addition to my itaste, and would work as long as i was using the 18650 battery

i just got the turbo opened it up and it says the wattage needs to be 20-25w, while my itastes variable wattage only goes from 6.5 to 12.5, did i just waste 50 bucks on a tank? any help would be amazing since kanger and innokin dont have any info on the matter

tl;dr
does the kanger areotank turbo work on the itaste 134

Hi and Welcome!

i haz beguned hunting...

Back - sort of.

Perhaps something was lost in translation. I think it might have meant to read that it could go up to that wattage. The replacement coils are listed as the same as other Kanger dual coils.

General comment not directed at you: I have heard Kanger was selling sub-ohm replacement coils, but this is the first time I have seen them for sale. I hope other vendors aren't listing the way Vapor Beast is. I'm a bit concerned.

They are selling 0.8Ω replacement coils. The listing says:

Replacement Heads/ Coils fit:

Protank 3
Mini Protank 3
Aerotank
Aerotank Mega
Aerotank Mini
Evod 2 Clearomizer
T3D
Evod Glass

WARNING: These coils should NOT be used in conjunction with eGo type batteries or any devise that is not capable or rated to handle low ohm coils! Please check manufacturer specs before using. VaporBeast will not be held responsible for improper use.

I see a potential problem: a new vaper has a Spinner, they think It's variable voltage, so it's not a regular eGo... They've probably also heard that lower ohms makes bigger clouds, so they put a 0.8Ω head in a mini Protank 3 on a Spinner.

Even at the lowest voltage setting the Spinner has (3.2 +/-) with a 0.8Ω this doesn't look pretty. And it can't be blamed on cloud-chasers not doing research, this is a trusted vendor!

(For those watching at home)

3.2 volts x 3.2 volts /0.8Ω = 12.8 watts
12.8 watts/3.2 volts = 4 amps
3.2 volts/o0.8Ω = 4 amps

Please someone correct me if I've done the math wrong. I hope I've done the math wrong, I don't like this.

(Takes deep breath)

Sorry OP, maybe this will have more info:

ETA: Okay Vapor Beast does say:

"NOTE: Most regulated devices will not read these sub ohm coils. These coils work best with mechanical mods."

But it is below the compatibility list, in a smaller font and doesn't explain why? Work best?

I understand the ohm laws but i dont understand how the MX-Z, a mechanical mod, how output voltage is correlated to battery voltage. kanger says an 18650 will work but i dont know if this thing is just gonna fry when i fit it into the 134 whos ring caps at 12.5. I cant return the tank so does anyone know if it will work at all or if its not work the risk to to the mod to try it

Well, looks a bit big for a 18650 mod, tis a 30 mm tank, what coils are you using?? But more importantly how does it vape?? The Turbo looks like something that could approach the quality of a decent rba tank system, but would never buy one if I didn't have a 26650 mod to fire it with, which I do, but I don't do changeables.

The Turbo probably can handle and perform well in the 20 watt zone, but should vape at 15, provided the ohm's aren't to low, and the 134 can fire it.

I haz'a waitin for you! OP -- Ocey is very, very fast hunter!:)

I'm distracted by the listing. But will keep looking.

The Kanger website makes no mention of high wattage required. Kanger Aerotank-Turbo clearomizer – KangerTech

Package contents:
1 x Kanger Aerotank Turbo (Pyrex tank, Airflow control, 510 base)
1 x 510 drip tip
2 x dual coil 1.8 ohm atomizer heads <<<< At least people can start safe.

With battery voltage of 4.2v and a resistance of 0.8ohms (the lowest ohm Kanger coil being sold) will yield 22.05 watts and 5.25A. On the iTaste 134 (if it's a mechanical mod) everything should be fine (from a safety standpoint) as long as your battery can supply the required amps.

If all this is okay, the questions is whether the Aero Turbo has enough air flow and wicking to keep up.

Am I missing something?

thanks so much for the help but i still dont think i understand, since i dont have the recommended power i should swap out the coils for ones with less resistance?

Sorry, we got a bit distracted. Forget what it says about wattage. It's a misprint or translation. I would venture to say that they meant either it will work all the way up to that wattage or they feel it performs best at that wattage. You should be fine, just check the heads it came with and make sure they ABOVE 1.5Ω. Higher is better. At 1.5Ω it should work with the wattage set at 6.5.

Unsolicited Opinion: Since you haven't used it yet, consider if you like the width of it on your mod. If you like it fine, if you don't you can take it back and show them where it says the power requirement. The tank only holds juice, that's it. It's the heads that controls the vape and since it takes the same dual coil as the other Kangers, it's not an improvement over the others with AFC.

update: thanks so much to everyone helping me out it was my mistake over a disclaimer in the kanger instruction book, their grammar is awful
i bit the bullet filled the tank and slapped it on and its working amazingly im sure with a bigger mod i could get a bigger rang but its firing at 6.5 through 12.5 and the airflow control is immaculate, i dont need any more range

to anyone passing by with the same issue, the turbo is great for high wattage mods but not limited to

thanks again guys

go back to the B and M, and tell them. Say either they get it working or give you your money back, as they suggested it. If they sold you something, and knew it wouldnt work.... then thats their problem and they should take the brunt. They should know. But that being said, with coils, It is mainly about the coil heads. not the tank.
