I got to agree it doesn't mater what you call it there will always be those that don't understand what vaping does for the smoker that quits smoking to vape .

Personally, I probably wouldn't have started vaping if it wasn't for the e-cig word. I had heard of e-cigs but never heard the word vaping. I even heard a radio ad for Njoy and thought to myself "Maybe I should try those". So my first e-cig was an Njoy. That got me started doing internet research to find something better.

Now that I consider myself a vaper, I don't like the term but I can't deny that "electronic cigarette" caught my attention.

So, whether we like it or not, it's like a nickname that stuck. I bet some of you have a nickname that you hate but it's how some people know you. Some of the nicknames of people I knew growing up were pretty bad, Chiggers, Tick, Scabby, Stick Man just to name a few.

If you asked most soccer moms, which is more important, a better education for their kids or giving half a dozen of the neighbors 10 more years to live, they would say nothing is too good for the kids, let the old farts die. It's probably prudent for everyone who might be in that old farts catagory to be politically active on this issue.

Public perception is vital. The vast majority of the population knows absolutely nothing about vaping, and as much as we try to tell them vaping is completely different, it is much safer, it is not smoking, there is no tobacco, etc, all they know is that the very name for vaping has the word cigarette in it.
