I've pretty much stayed with .30 and .32 gauge on mine. (Naw, I don't go for the sub ohm stuff, either.)

A 28 gauge 11 wrap microcoil really chucks the vapor. I find microcoiling my RSST really improves the flavor and drastically increases the vapor production. I aim for 2-2.4 ohms, because of course, the Provari can't subohm. Likely I'll go back to 28 gauge or acquire some ribbon

LOL...love it.

You're down to 26 on your RSST? I was using 28 and just went up to 32. vaping much better now in general but flavor seems a bit dimished. Tried the Rip Tripper verical micro coil with the tiny wick tip wrapped with cotton and wasn't thrilled with that either.

Change the set up every time chasing the unicorn with that topper....

So, are you using Rip's method for the microcoil then? Must be, if you can get 11 wraps on a mesh with without coiling it first you truly are "The Genesis Master".

Actually am unsure what your referring to regarding his method. What I do is I make my wick, torch it like crazy, then wrap a microcoil around a 1/8" drill bit and slide it over the wick already installed in the device. If it gives me too much flack with shorts and what-not, I'll take it all off, still assembled coil on wick and give it a good torch. Takes a good chunk of time pulsing the shorts out, but it really wouldn't be very easy on anything that didn't have an insulated wick hole.

The wick sits tight in the wick hole and is hollow. Usually I'll drop an additional sleeve of #500 mesh inside the wick to add juice capacity and narrow the hollow-ness. Air flows down the wick, juice flows up the wick and vapes like a train. No cotton, no ekowool or silica, just mesh.

The super efficiency of the wicking allows me to vape at such a high voltage. Formerly I was using a 28 GA microcoil at 2.4 ohms and depending on the type of juice, I cranked that baby up to 6 volts. Madness

Also, did you drill your intake hole? I drilled mine to 5/64" and its awesome. I'm also using a reducer on the chamber as well

Also, like I said, the 26 GA is pretty slow to heat up. The 28 is a lot more responsive. It's not reasonable to microcoil with 32 gauge because I'm going for a large surface area coil covering as much of the wick as possible. I suppose that leads to more heat distribution? If I did a 32 gauge coil that size, it would be like 4 ohms

I'd say I caught the unicorn lol

This is the 2.0 ohm 26 gauge coil

Edit: It wound up being 2.2 ohms. I have it running at 5.4 volts and its a pretty smooth vape. Minor explosions happening inside the chamber when you first take a draw, but hey, you gotta stay on your toes right?

Seems like a warmer vape than my last build. It's a little tough to compare because today I tore down my 2.9 ohm 28 gauge build (originally 2.5 ohms a month ago) and replaced the mesh and everything. Normally I'll wrap another coil around the same wick, I just flip the wick over.

The original wick actually had a hole in the outer layer of SS mesh because of the heat from the 28 gauge coil. This was what that one looked like all spooled up on a dry burn

Clearly the 26 gauge coil is far larger in size than the 28 gauge. I'd rate them about even for overall vape quality as of right now. I did just add the chamber reducer last night, so maybe my enjoyment is more of a function of that. Really contemplating the ribbon though

Haha no prize unfortunately, maybe someday when I'm making bookoo bucks. Doesnt look like you need a prize with that list of arsenal in your signature though!

I'll just settle for the knowledge I was on the right track then :D

I've actually got a few more toys, but I can't fit them all in the siggy. You can never have too many PVs in your life, I get bored very easily
