Focus people, FOCUS! :D (MHO)

(Also MHO) Just a thought, since Oliver was kind enough to provide a pasted banner and thread (THANK YOU, OLIVER!!!) perhaps this thread could evolve into not only a "support thread" but a "Battle Cry Thread" as well. It seemed to work pretty well with the billboard issue. ;) The reason I mention this is because I have a similar issue right here in my little town. Here's the add just as it appeared on the front page of the "free press" newspaper, right below the local "franchised" vape shop add (tell me THAT didn't take some "greasing"!):
Anti Vaping Propoganda.jpg

At first I just rolled my eyes, here we go again!!! Then I got :censored: :censored:!!!!! Same story, tell the lie, make it look "official & intelligent" and let "the sheep" lap it up!
I want to write a rebuttal in the same paper and did the research on the "Flavor Extract and Manufacturing Assn." (and yes, they use FEMA as their acronym too!!!) and found that they are an extension of the FDA. :shock: I searched their warning label requirements and could not find any such label or requirement. I have also never seen any such label on any e-liquid but did find a "suggestion" by them in their literature for manufacturers to post such warnings for their employees so they wouldn't turn a "safe" flavoring into a "dangerous" one by ingesting the heated vapors. (Even that is a stretch IMO). Further, the picture is OBVIOUSLY photo shopped and you've gotta LOVE the "Bubblegum" E-Liquid label. After all it's all about protecting the children, right!

LIS, I want so badly to lash out at this type of thing. (What I'd really like to be able to afford is SUE them for false advertising.) BUT, I also realize the need to be 100% accurate & correct in my response. I'm hoping someone knows more about the "F.E.M.A.", Labeling requirements, postings at manufacturing facilities and anything else you might spot in the ad, than me and give me suggestions/verifiable documentation to RIP THEIR HEADS OFF, with. ;) (Please PM me so we don't clog up the thread. ;) You're certainly welcome to comment here, though. :D)

Thanks for getting and staying involved. EVERY VOLLEY NEEDS TO BE RESPONDED TO!!! :thumbs: The future of vaping EVERYWHERE depends on it! ;)

A very humorous and accurate response BUT, anything in the way of legitimate, factual rebuttal???
The concentration level differential and the haz mat gear working BOTH ways is already noted. Thanks for the chuckle though. ;)

wow that is horrible!! Putting that right under an ad that was paid for by the vape shop! Maybe I'm missing something....but why on earth would a flavor manufacturer heat the flavors anyhow?? They aren't making juice. The flavorings began as food flavorings that folks use in their kitchens. I don't have docs, but it might be good to contact a few of the flavoring manufacturers, email them a copy of the ad, let them know what you need. After all the demise of vaping will affect them too somewhat, since this has obviously added a good bit of income for them.

I've tweeted all the movie chains I can think of (ones I'm familiar with around these parts anyway):

@MovieTavern
@studiomoviegril (apparently they ran out of room for the last "l" lol)
@TexasTheatre (yes that Texas Theatre!)
@LandmarkLTC
@AngelikaTexas
@LOOKCinemasLLC
@Cinemark
@RegalMovies
@AMCTheatres
@AlamoDFW

Then I tweeted @LastWeekTonight with this:

I got a response back from @LandmarkLTC already!

I asked them to please look into it. People need to see this!

Come on folks, we need more to tweet these same companies and others out there to show the interest! :)

It's easy to just reply to the tweets & encourage them to consider showing the film. You don't have to make a separate Tweet. A lot of replies on one OP will get attention.

Thanks darlin!

Here is a great review that was posted on Oliver's thread.
A Billion Lives Review - We Saw It! Did It Deliver? - Vaping360

Yup! Nice!

And you may like this--very depressing assessment of the situation, but a very nice take on A Billion Lives.

Why vaping can’t survive.

"What has changed is that I am narrowing my support down to only two things now; the industry coalition lawsuit against the FDA, and promotion of the film A Billion Lives. I support the consolidated lawsuit because I believe it is the only chance the industry has at this point to delay or stop the complete destruction of quality vaping in the United States before we lose thousands of small businesses and jobs –as well as millions of lives.

And the documentary? Because we still need the general public to see the lies and corruption behind the attack on vaping – and A Billion Lives is already done, it’s amazing, and it’s ready to do just that. Unfortunately, it appears that many of the individuals and companies who have madefortunes on the growth of vaping – fortunes off of you – are hesitant to fund the release of the film or it would have been out already. I’m not sure how much clearer I could have made it in my last couple of blogs.

Perhaps it’ll be be up to us – you and I – the people who just want the ability to keep managing our nicotine without simultaneously killing ourselves.

Ultimately, A Billion Lives may end up being the vape industry’s epitaph; which would be unfortunate. But not nearly as unfortunate as the billion lives that the title refers to.

Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends, and coworkers – lost to corruption; lost to career politicians seeking significance; lost to greed. And lost to apathy.

There is still time…but I won’t be able to repeat that for much longer."

FANTASTIC READ! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Particularly the closing remark;

Don't let Apathy be our death nil! If you do ONE THING, that's one MORE thing than is being done right now. ;)
Believe me, I know how thankless, tiring, frustrating and even hopeless it seems but I will fight to the end before I succumb to someone raping me in the :censored:!

@Debadoo, An EXCELLENT suggestion, thank you. I am working on a "rebuttal article" in regard to the ad and will post it as soon as it gets it's "spit & polish" to get everyone's opinion on it. I am limited to 700 words, so that's a consideration. Some of my posts are longer than that. :lol: Can you imagine what a rant like this one is coming out to??? :-x :-x :-x

FIGHT ON!

Okay, I think I've got the response to the ad "finished". I posted it in Gen. Vaping as "What's Wrong With This Ad?"
What's Wrong With This Ad?
Hop over, take a look and LMK what you think, down to the tiniest detail, don't cap lock this, do cap lock that, every aspect. ;) Don't worry, I've got broad shoulders, I can take it. :D It just needs to be the most "readable" to the broadest audience to have the most impact. Thanks everyone!!!

Vape On!!!
