What good will the film do, if it's only shown to a vape shop?...
We need the public and non vapers to see it.

The thing is that they need a good turnout at the box office in order for net flix to take ant interest in it. That is when the ones that really need to see it will start seeing it.

It's launch week!

Holy cow, last week was crazy!!

This week will be even crazier!

I just got word from our publicity team that we've got about 60+ VIPs with IMDB credits in movies or TV shows slated to attend our Hollywood Premiere.

The potential is breathtaking.

Big thanks to von erl and friends for helping us throw a big party for the Hollywood VIPs on top of the W Hollywood Hotel after the premiere.

Hopefully we can get some new high profile people to join our fight.

Von Erl also bought 50 tickets to the premiere itself to share with those who bring a non-vaper to learn about the battle for a billion lives.

Click here to get your tickets.

Here's a sneak peek at some of our guests:

The source of my displeasure is that my ticket was canceled 7 full days after the purchase date, and just two days before the showing ...

If this was indeed intended as a "private event", why did it take a full week to figure out that some tickets were sold to the general public, not on the vape shop's customer list ?

Those of us who responded early made it possible for this event to be validated, and are now shut out ...

I've kind of lost interest in this, I'll see it on YouTube soon enough ...

It could have been a screw up on Tuggs part. maybe the vendor bought all of the tickets to get it there and are giving the tickets out to people that they want there. I have seen many, many vendors do this on FB. I also noticed this on the showing that you speak of
"

Please join us for the EXCLUSIVE San Diego premiere of this award-winning documentary. We will be hosting a private reception for all attendees after the film.

That alone will cost them a pretty penny. I feel sure about that. Still sorry that it happened to you though.

I tried to do this for the Hollywood premiere...

The various fields on the input form were blocked off so I couldn't enter information.
I guess the tickets are already gone and they shut it down.

I tried both Google and Internet Explorer.

This hasn't really been set up well. Once the minimum ticket threshold is reached to assure the showing, the movie should become available for advanced ticket purchase on the theatres website and/or in person, whatever their policy and tech capabilities might be for regular movies, to the general public.

This way, the folks we WANT to see it may choose to do so. VAPERS know we're being screwed. And there is probably a greater chance of a sell out, and subsequent showings. Maybe a discount to the theatre for hosting subsequent showings themselves. No shipping costs, they already have the film, if indeed it is on film which I would hope.

Thrilled FOR ya, Kat! I'm besides myself with excitement to see this movie. I'm hoping that enough inertia gets generated that theatres elect to show it themselves everywhere. We really need this.

Thank you, LLB, and I'm equally excited about the event on Wednesday. I've pulled out about a thousand various outfits...

All silliness aside, I'm in total support of the film and I do hope it gains global popularity and viewings.

Well, no Billion Lives premiere for me ...

Last Friday I got an email from Tugg with a link to my ticket, for the Carlsbad CA showing on Wednesday the 26th, and was pretty excited to finally see this film, feeling lucky to get my ticket during the very short window of opportunity ...

This morning I got another email from Tugg:

Followed about 5 minutes later by this:

This is not something that feels good ... :(

I'm so sorry. :( That can't feel good at all.

that really stinks! hope you don't give up on it though......it is really important. I'm hoping that the vape shop required folks to bring at least one smoker or something.

What good will the film do, if it's only shown to a vape shop?...

I suppose that "exclusive" could be taken to mean "not open to the public", but I assumed the more common meaning, that it would be the only showing in San Diego ...

The Tugg shopping cart page showed that 44 more tickets needed to be sold to reach 100 in order to "validate" the event, at the time when I purchased my ticket, over a week in advance. If the vape shop sponsor bought out the remaining tickets, they could at least have honored the prior purchases that helped them to meet the minimum number sold. Instead they had them voided ...

I saw no indication that it was intended to be an "invitation only event", and my payment was processed quickly enough ...

Still no refund yet, but I suppose that will happen eventually ...

I'm pretty disgusted with the whole mess, and have no inclination to pursue this further. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff ...

Sorry to hear that happened. I would definitely look for screenings nearby though, or you could always sponsor one, it really isn't much work except signing up, dropping into a few vape shops, and some social media promotion. I DO hope they get their act together, getting the MOVIE theatres in on promoting this. At least listing it on their sites and maquees. Filling the seats DOES satisfy a movie theatres PRIMARY objective and profit center. Which of course is popcorn, candy and beverage sales.

If seeing the movie was at all important to you, use those obstacles to steel your resolve. I'm all for not sweating small stuff, as long as it doesn't matter much to me.

Try this, @DC2 . They are giving away 50 sets of tickets. You never know, you may get 2 for free?
Hollywood Premiere Tickets for A Billion Lives
That's really sweet, Salem. I hope DC wins a pair. The event calls for "Smart Casual". I've never seen how he dresses, but I know he's at LEAST halfway there.
Well, it seems you have vastly overestimated me.
I thought the fields were blocked off but it turns out they were not.

I won't even go into how I could have thought they were.
The word "stupid" would be used frequently though, if I were to try to explain.

Anyway, I finally put in a request for tickets.
Now I just have to Google "Smart Casual" in case I get them.

A few years ago, I would have done just that ...

Now I am a disabled senior on a very limited fixed income, so promotional activities are not practical, and a trip to a distant location would require planning and assistance. The local screening was my best opportunity to see the film ...

My main concern now is a refund, its been 7 days since my payment cleared the bank. A $14 loss is not something that I take lightly, and it was not my intention to make a donation at this time ...

The ticket that I paid for was number 66 of the 100 necessary to secure the showing with the theater. Were the first 65 tickets purchased by the vape shop sponsor and their customers, then more were requested, and the tickets of non-customers were voided ?

I've had tickets rescinded before, if the event were cancelled or rescheduled, but never just because somebody else wanted it ...

That's what I find so distasteful about this, and I hope that its an isolated case ... :(

Well, if it's any consolation, I was not the guy that got them.
Well, not yet anyway.

It seems I am shut out for the Carlsbad showing as well so far.

But if I happen to get them at the last minute, I'll go with you instead of my wife.
But you'll at least have to hold my hand during the movie.

DC2, I genuinely appreciate the offer, but I've kind of lost interest in seeing the film. The whole voided ticket debacle has left a bad taste in my mouth, like a virtual dry-hit ...

People such as yourself, who have engaged in serious vaping activism, should be among the first to see this much-anticipated work. Take your wife and enjoy the event ...

I'll be in a penny poker game tomorrow night with a bunch of other old farts, and just might win back my $14 ...

Really hope you get your money back. And I do understand how you feel just hate that you have such a negative opinion of seeing the film now.

Just don't try to draw to an inside straight.
Please, I beg you.

Well, unless the circumstances favor trying.
Which is rare, but can happen every blue moon.

Oh I'll get my money back for sure. I'm retired and have more than enough time to call and email them into submission ...

I do have great respect for Mr. Biebert and all who contributed to A Billion Lives, and will see the film eventually. Just not with a sponsor who thinks that revoking a pre-paid ticket is OK ... :?:
