Hi! Just joined.

Twenty-year smoker, about to turn 39, giving up smoking (for three weeks, about 2-4 analogs a day, last several days 1 analog, now over 24 hrs NO analogs) thanks to this miracle called vaping.

I see there is a thing called "accidental quitting;" I am one of "those people"! Stopped into a smoke shop to pick up some stinkies and became curious and said "What the heck? Why not."

A month later, two cheapo (but very appreciated as a "gateway to vaping") pens, a SMOK 1500 mah (if my lingo is off, please forgive as I am learning), one new Kanger Mini ProTank and as of yesterday....DRUMROLL PLEASE....one gorgeous MVP 2.0 Shine Edition with a fancy-schmancy pink tank and an even more froo-froo mouthpiece. LOVING IT. Also my juice collection is absurd for such a newbie but I reckon IF IT HELPS ME QUIT, BUY IT!!!!!!!

Trying to get my husband to convert, but....he's not quite there yet. And I empathize with that. But I have a shiny vape waiting for him when he is ready.

So grateful for this community! Y'all don't know how much lurking here has enabled me to commit to quit! Thank you! :vapor:

Congrats on quitting and hopefully your husband will follow soon! Bring him by the shop to see if he likes the design of any of the mods to help him convert to vaping! Or maybe send a cloud his way and maybe the smell will make him curious, lol

Excellent choice on the MVP! It will serve you well for a long time. I still use mine occasionally and I've never had problems with it. I've actually had more problems with my recent upgrades than with my old MVP lol.

Thank you you for the validation and support!

Husband *has* vaped; I think what it is right now is pride, but like I said, I'm not going to harangue him about it. He knows it's there.

It was because of this forum that I chose the MVP. Now I just have to learn how to adjust the settings without help from the guys at the local B&M ;)

Well Happy B-Day and enjoy your MVP 2.0!

Hop on over to Juice forum section, ton's of good recommendations.

Thank you!! Ya know, pushing 40 can be a little hard for some of us gals, but I feel I am really taking control of my health (and let me be frank, some of this is vanity talking) by Vaping. It's the gift I'm giving myself, and it's taking some of the sting out of it. Better than the alternative! Have a great day!

Good for you, Astron! Congratulations on quitting smoking and on your cool gear! :)

Since it was a bad case of the flu and my daughter giving me one of her cheapo pens that got me into vaping, I'm a fellow accidental quitter. Wanted to quit for a long time, but had no idea vaping was where it is today. Welcome to ECF!

Thank you! I'm so proud of your daughter for giving you this gift, too.

Having a new obsession (all the shiny gear to choose from) that won't kill me is a freedom I had no idea was available to me. I didn't see a way out until I found Vaping. I'm going to be one of those "evangelicals," I'm afraid. Lol.

Congrats on quitting and good luck converting your husband..... Maybe once he sees that he can no longer keep up with you he will give it a shot!!! :D

LOL, you're assuming he can keep up with me now ;)

Seriously, thank you for the kudos and support. I just have to find a juice that tastes just like a (cardboard yuk flavored) Camel "Blue" and we might be in business.

Have a great day!

Funny thing, it was on her birthday. Now I'm the one trying to encourage her to upgrade. She was vaping the cheapos because of limited breaks at work and because it was too darn cold here in the NE this winter to go outside to smoke at home.

Also happy birthday to you! :)

Her birthday gift to herself from you (WHA??) was making sure her Daddy is happy and healthy. I remember being a little girl and "drowning" my dad's cigs and matches in water (didn't go over well). But his mother, my sainted Granny, died at 69 from a heart attack and she had been a lifelong smoker. Dad quit that year when he was about 44. Now he's a weightlifter at 67 and rockin it.

For crying out loud, convince her to upgrade! There are so many aesthetically pleasing aspects to Vaping. That's why I got my froo-froo gear. If that makes me a *special snowflake,* so be it!!

thanks again! :)

Congrats! I too have found this forum to be an exceptional motivation device. I'm not sure I'm saving money because I too like to try flavors and keep purchasing new equipment but I figure I have slow down my purchasing at some point, right?
ya know, I look at it like this, and I know money is the ever-looming factor for most of us, so I'm not pretending that we can all just spend on a whim, but even if you spend roughly the same on Vaping as you did analogs, isn't there still a huge benefit to be gained? I reckon my spending will slow down, but here at the beginning I had to try out some gear in order to see what I think I'm going to stick with in the long run. And my goal is to never smoke an analog again. So I'm going to indulge myself -- no holds barred -- to keep from scratching that itch.

Thank you so much for the validation and support! Stay strong!

She came over on her birthday and ended up giving me a gift. :) LOL - my avi throws folks off... I'm her mom. Just got tired of coloring my hair, and buzzed it rather than going two-tone. Less fuss and more time to mess with vape gear. :D

Good for your dad! A wise family you all are there.

Oh Lord ::flushes:: please forgive me. I'm too old to still be making assumptions. SORRY MOM

Thank you. My Dad indeed did a 180 with his health. He got started smoking in Viet Nam.

No apology needed! Didn't bother me to embrace my silver, and doesn't bother me to have buzzed my long curls that made my gender more clear. The pic I used doesn't help any. It's all good.

And don't fret the looming 40's - they were my best decade ever. It's a little early in my 50's, but so far so good! Here's to good health, and living long and prospering!
