This is a repost from the review I did when I could still only access the New Member's forum.
For the last few weeks I've been using the Black Cherry electronic cigarette from Don't Touch My ..... This is a custom M602C manufactured by Smoore technology that is compatible with KR808D-1 parts and accessories. It is a two-piece cartomizer design with a battery length of 55mm and a length overall of roughly 95mm. Let me say here that I have no affiliation with Don't Touch My .....
The Company:
Don't Touch My .... appears to be run by a couple. There is an explanation for their starting the company, should you be interested in that sort of thing, on their website. Speaking of their website, it's of a quality that I could've coded better drunk, but works and stock is updated regularly. Customer service could be faster (usually a 2-3 day wait for email responses), but they are helpful in their replies.
I ordered the Black Cherry deluxe kit which includes: 2 sound activated batteries; a smart pcc; a USB/Wall charging kit; and 5 cartomizers. Pretty standard for a quality kit these days. The kit retails for about $80...a little on the pricey side. However, shipping was reasonably fast (about 4 days) and the kit, including the batteries, are covered under a 1-year warranty. Be aware that the company does NOT accept returns. They will replace anything that breaks (barring carts of course), but there is no 30-day, or similar money back policy.
The Unit:
Vapor output is similar to the many KR808D-1 units available. The draw is easy and the throat hit is impressive. Unfortunately, the sound-activated switch is a bit finicky and while it never fails to turn on, it sometimes fails to turn off causing the unit to stay active until cutoff (6 sec if I remember right). This seems to happen most often when using a fresh cartridge, which has led me to the conclusion that the crackling of juice from the fresh cart is activating the sound switch. A bandpass filter for the sound switch would be a welcome improvement. Like many KR808D models available, there is substantial wind noise when you draw down hard on it. Batteries last approx. 1 1/2 - 2 hours for me, depending on my habits.
The cartomizers on the other hand, are the most reliable I've ever used. Instead of the usual poly, the fill material is an unwoven fabric. It is wrapped around the inner wall of the shell with a clear channel through the middle. The atomizer wire (which is insulated) then wraps one side of the fill from front to back. They are the most resistant to burning that I have yet encountered. The company claims that they won't burn at all, but dry it out enough and anything will. They are easy to fill, or refill either by removing the plastic cap at the mouth end and dripping directly into the fill, or by the cart-condom method. I can generally get about 25+ drops in there reliably. The carts are very consistent whether they were just filled, or about to need a refill.
The PCC is excellent. It holds a fully assembled e-cig, a spare battery, and 3 cartomizers in their condoms. There is a button on the front that when pressed lights the lcd readout and a small led to the left of the button. The lcd readout indicates the charge level of the PCC itself. The led will light red when the battery screwed into the pack is not yet finished charging and will light green when it is. Holding the button will indicate to the PCC that the battery screwed into it needs charging. The led on the front of the pack as well as the tip of the cig battery to be charged will flash several times to indicate charging has commenced. It is a smart PCC, so there is no need to unscrew the battery once it has been charged. I generally get 5-6 cig battery charges from the pack. The only disadvantage is the splattering of the company name (which is admittedly stupid) on the front and back, along with a paragraph of safety warning written on the back. Not a deal killer for such a nice PCC.
Wrap up:
Despite its short falls, the Black Cherry M602C is currently my favorite mini. As stated before, the cartomizers are the best I've tried and the PCC is perfect for my needs. I usually order blank carts as their tobacco flavor is grating and their cherry flavor tastes like cough syrup. I've heard the menthol is quite good, but I'm not much of a menthol guy and so have not ordered, nor can I comment on them. And again, while their responses may be a little slow, the service is quality. All in all a solid little unit.
****EDIT
I should note that while the Black Cherry is compatible with KR808D-1 parts, I have yet to find a battery from that line (including bloog maxx fusion) that fits in the Black Cherry PCC. They're always about 10mm too long.
