"Will the FDA force electronic cigarettes to become the next black market?
A war is being waged between the FDA and electronic cigarette supporters.
The FDA wants to ban electronic cigarettes, claiming that they have not been adequately tested and therefore pose a threat to the American public. Supporters of the electronic cigarette say the FDA is being brash and using the media to feed incomplete, big corporation biased information to the American public."

Testing something does not make it more or less of a threat. It just makes it tested.

Cigarettes have been tested. Does that mean they don't pose a treat?

It's our intelligence that is being tested and our patience.

Have to agree with you there that's all the FDA is doing. If they do a ban they are going to make us go underground and open a place on the black market. I, for one, do not plan on stopping my vaping for the FDA or anyone. I have plenty of juice and have many mods so I'm not dependent on the Chineese for anything. It's a shame that the FDA had to try using scare tactics in there battle. I have met several people, that have stopped me while I was vaping, that told me that the FDA is full of it and that they are starting to see whose pockets there hands are in. Most of these people do not smoke or vape but are seeing the big picture. That's what we need to keep doing educate the people and show them the truth.

That is exactly what the FDA does not understand! They can take away large imports of e-cigs from responsible sellers and all that will d is have everyone tha uses an e-cig buy directly from China. E-cigs will not stop from being used in this Country as there are too many happy users. The FDA screwed up because they should have acted on e-cigs as soon as they knew about them (2+ years ago) Gee, why did it take the FDA 2 years to state that "we don't believe e-cigs are safe" ?? All they are doing is promoting black market activity instead of regulating the product and let it remain on the market. That is the responsible thing to do and the ethical thing to do, which means they will do the opposite. Talk about being out of touch!!!

The answer to this question is easy. 2 years ago, e-cigs did not post much of a threat to big pharma, big tobacco, and big government. Now they do. As more and more people go to vaping, that threat becomes larger, and hence, larger scare tactics being tossed.

Unless one lives in a cave, I think that just every free thinking person can see through this like a comic book plot.

Im not really sure they are going to ban them.
I know we are all worried. But, I believe they will just implement taxes on them. For the exact above mentioned reasons. IF they ban them, People will still get them.
The FDA just wants there cut. Banning a life saving product, would make them look horrible. And the studies will prove the point.
Plus, since there are lawsuits going on, with the FDA an ecigs, nothing will happen for at least another year I would think. While there in active lawsuits, I dont think they can ban anything. But, like I said I really dont think that will be the end result of all this.

Is there any way for the FDA and/or the big tobacco companies to look at their sales and see what the impact on tobacco sales has been with people like us making the change to vaping? Or is it too small a change?

Anybody have any statistics on how many new smokers starting analogs compared to how many old analog smokers making the switch to VP's?

It seems to me that there is no comprimise in Goverment? They tax us heavy for smoking, tell us cigg are bad, when we find an alternative to smoking, now, without justified cause, they want to find a reason to tax us for our new healthier behavior. They might as well find a way to tax us for potatoes chips, or for a baby's with pacifiers!
