Hey gang,
Got my black (with gold accents and cheesy plastic "gem" on the bottom firing button, har har) Nzonic clone from C2Cvaping a few days ago. I dig it, especially the "PVD" coating. There might be a little voltage drop, but my real question is about flush mounting.

Basically, I can't get much to flush mount. I've tried AGAs, clones of the Prometheus and Kraken, and a handful of other attys but I always have at least a small gap. Am I being dense (again)? I know about attaching the atty to the top cap first, then screwing that onto the tube, but that ain't helping.

I feel like I'm missing something obvious....

I've had more than a few EhPro Nzonics to "fine tune"... and (both short and long) positive pins can be a very tight in their delrin bushings... especially as you start to push them out most of their travel to the point of falling out. The shanks appear to a bit inconsistent in dimension.
Saying that, should you not choose to custom fit them by reaming out sub ten-thousands of an inch material from the bushings... with time & use, the pin fits will eventually loosen up of their own volition.

Sorry gang. Been a helluva day. My grandma had to get EMS'd again, and I spent the whole day helping my mom who just came home from restorative care after a total knee replacement.

And I've got another kidney stone givin' me hell too.
Great start to 2014, amirite?
:(

So where's the freakin' pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man. Wound too tight to sleep, so here's a few photos. Like I (think) I said earlier, I didn't want the EHPro logo at first, but now that I've had it in-hand, I rather like it. Also, it occurred to me that I could fix the flush-mount issue by just extending the telescoping tube a bit. Looks nice 'n tight now.
OUCH!!! Hope it gets better, real soon....

The Prometheus is just "ok." The Kraken clone seems a lot better, but I can't really put my finger on why. The way you attach your positive lead on the Prometheus is irksome; there's a slot that's so shallow that you have to take the top screw off completely if you're using 28 gauge (which is just my preferred gauge of kanthal). I have to really crank that screw down to avoid hot legs at the positive connection. And the flavor and vapor (on a single wick anyway, haven't felt like fooling with duals in this one yet) is slightly lacking.

I like the black a lot. I'd consider one if I knew the black coating wouldn't scratch.
And if they made it black and stainless instead of gold.

How do you like the prometheus? I don't think I care for gennys anymore - so I haven't picked one up. Looks cool though :) Nice set up

My review from eciggity.com (who got it to me in 3 days with free shipping from Honolulu) -

First, this mod hits VERY well, no question. Solid feel, I don't know why I expected the feel to be more textured/rubbery, but is a solid metal feel.

My one caveat - the actual button, it unwinds/loosens VERY easily, I find myself twisting it back tight into the housing every few hits. Locktite fix? Resting the mod on the button while not locked, it goes in about 50-60% - not enough to make it fire though. Loose, metallic scraping feel for that first 60%, then a smoother solid engaging the last 40%. Guess that's 2 caveats.

Time will tell how long the PVD coat process will last, but I like it. Now if I could find a nice black RBA to top it off...

Zip that setup looks damn gorgeous. Thanks for making the thread and supplying info. Do you have the measurements of the mod? I'm wondering what length 350 mode is and what the diameter of the top cap is.

Thajones- I asked that same question today and you'll be pleased to see this:
Two vendors and counting with black rdas. One is a sold out pricey genny which looks stunning. But the other is a company that will put a nice a black coat on anything.

I don't have any calipers so I can't take any really accurate measurements. In fact, I can't even find a ruler at the moment. Go me!! Definitely gonna hafta try to get ahold of that brass-sleeved Kraken clone though. Black and gold/brass look great together.

The diameter of the top cap is 22mm. As far as length, I dont have a measuring device but it is fairly long due to the magnetic switch.

I noticed the same problem with the button loosening quickly. My thinking is that being a right handed user, when hitting the button, I slightly turn the button to loosen it. After about 5 presses, it wants to fall out. In fact it did fall out without me noticing once, but I did find the button again. My fix: a round of Teflon tape on the threads. It still wants to loosen, but you have to really put some pressure to loosen it fully. I also put an o-ring under the negative post to shorten the throw, which moved the bottom button up into the tube farther. No problems with it loosening too much or falling off.

How is the paint on y'all's mods? I received mine the other day and the main tube was pretty scratched up and the paint was really thin.... Im returning it today to get a replacement, hopefully the new one doesnt have the same issue.

Other than that, the mod has been fairly decent. I dont have an issue with the button coming off, but the top magnet would keep unscrewing every other time I would switch batteries.
