mathee here is a video to make a microcoil by sxmxdrifter How To Make A Perfect Micro Coil With The Darkzero Coil Jig - YouTube. after watching that, just get some preboiled and dried cotton ball and stuff it under the coil. it could fill the entire base of the reomizer but you can also put enough to cover the bottom of the microcoil and touching both the legs completely. get the cotton saturated with juice (do not dry burn when cotton is touching coil). you will want 1ohm to 1.2 ohms. I prefer 1.2 because it is easier on my battery and heats fast. 1.4 takes time to heat the coil up. make sure you get the smallest gauge screwdriver, i think i used a 1/16th inch bit. as for the ekowool bed, just do the same as with the cotton bed, but trim the frayed edges that jot out of the base.

i think the reason why a lot of people do not like cotton is because of the taste. that is why you have to boil the cotton. you dont know what manufacturing oils, etc are on there. you can sidestep this by buying organic rolled cotton from CVS or any drug store, just make sure to keep it in a ziplock bag. also, what some don't know is that you need very clean and dry hands. otherwise your cotton will taste like whatever you touched throughout the day (it will also taste like soap if you dont rinse well enough). i wear gloves and rip bits of cotton off and keep in a ziplock bag. that way when i want to change the cotton, i just have to get tweezers to put them under the coil. this isnt on the reomizer, but this is an example of a cotton bed (aka cloud)

the first pic the guy didnt trim the excess wire... and his legs are too short. you want the coil to be as close to the airhole as possible without touching the sides, that would cause a short. the second pic is mine however. the legs can be longer without the worry of a hotspot because the saturated cotton is touching the legs keeping the temp down.

I do the same thing but I put the cotton behind the posts away from the coil. A little extra cotton on the back end gives you a few more vapes before you have to squonk again. Even with sterilized cotton (aka CVS sterile cotton balls) there is some cotton taste the first few hits but it passes. There are still some folks who can taste the cotton though. Also, with cotton less is more...no need to pass a large wad through the coil. A few wisps will do. Too much and you will always taste the cotton and too little will give you a harsher vape so feel free to experiment.

Silica, however, needs to be nice and snug.

yup, agreed. one problem with cotton though is, since it holds juice so well and equally throughout, if you have more cotton, the more juice you waste. for instance, if you have a lot of cotton that holds 2mls of juice, you will burn the cotton at a certain point cause the .5mls of juice is distributed throughout the rest of the cotton. having less cotton means less juice to distribute. when i burn the cotton and take it out, i find that it there is still plenty of juice in it.
