It was a complete shock to me to discover that bladder cancer is not very unusual for white male smokers in their 50's. I was diagnosed with it two weeks ago, but fortuneately it was the least invasive and least aggressive type. A small tumor was removed from my bladder and I won't have to have chemo or any other treatment other than an inspection every three months for the rest of my life.

I am now 8 days down the road with no tobacco thanks to my ecig I started using several months ago. I was mixing analogs at the rate of 4-15 per day, but now none.

Wow, did not know bladder cancer was that common for w/m in their 50's. Glad your dx was sooner than later and no chemo required. It's never too late to start looking after our health and start minimizing our risks. Over a year now since I quit the tobacco and have no intentions of ever going back. Stick with it my friend.

Buffaloe,

Glad to hear the outcome of that. I'm also in my 50's and think that sometime a little scare like that is a blessing. Not only does it help give us the momentum to take better care of ourselves, but help us put our other problems in their proper perspective.

BTW There was a great article posted last week about lung cancer and vitamin B6. You can go to the JAMA website to read the full study.

So happy to hear that you were fortunate to have been able to catch it early and have it completely removed!

A friend of mine, 41, just had a heart attack and needed a triple bypass. I had tried to get him to quit smoking and got him to buy a Janty stick but he went back to analogs. The dr told him that he was lucky to have been as young as he was or he would have surely died.

So now no more analogs or ecigs, he needs to completely change his eating habits and lifestyle for his sake and his family's sake.
