blank cartomizers

Has anyone bought blank cartomizers and they have a weird taste to them??? I've been refilling prefilled cartomizers and I just bought blank ones for the first time but they taste weird. Any advice? Thanks!

Not really. Make sure you put enough juice in them and it's best to wait several hours before you use one.

You might be getting a weird taste from not enough juice.

I have. Tasted like oil. I tried to vape through it, just yuck. I put them in some alcohol, swished, let them sit for half an hour. Rinsed them out and let them dry. They were okay then.

I don't know why they tasted like that but it was bad.

Be sure to let them dry at least overnight b/c the filling inside may still have water in it. If it kills them at least you don't have to vape that awful taste again. It did not kill mine and I am glad b/c they were pricey. I just buy cheaper 5 pakcs now, but fear it will happen again. YUCK!!!

What kind of cartomizer exactly? I have used blank stuffing-type cartos with no problems at all except one time I didn't fill one enough and tried to vape it and got the singed stuffing taste. You need to fill the stuffing ones fully the first time and then them sit - after cleaning up any drips and blowing out the air channel, I rotate it different ways to help the juice distribute, let it sit for a bit on different sides to make sure all of the stuffing is wet. Fortunately I didn't singe the stuffing badly and the flavor was fine once it was properly filled and ready.

well, I've been thru about 50 carto's now (standard and low res), and have never had a odd taste out of a new one. In fact, I really like new ones because the flavor is perfect. But yeah- it is important to make sure it is filled properly. Carto's taste funky as hell when they run low on juice, which also applies to not having enough juice in there. Typically takes about 30 drops to fill completely.

Thanks for your help everyone! I put only about 18 to 20 drops in. I will add more and hopefully that will work! I do have the stuffing type cartos, I didn't know that there was more than one kind. What is the other type of carto and where can you get them? thanks!

Try dripping a few drops in the battery end. I had the same problem with some Bloog MF blanks I got last week. I guess the wick wasn't getting wet. This seemed to fix it.
I just got some CE-2 clearomizers today, and I'm vaping them right now. Not sure what I like better. Seems to be pros and cons to both.

Blanks are all about method. Letting them sit overnight has worked best for me, and a few drops through the battery end helps too. Blanks are dry as a bone when they arrive in the mail, so you have to season them, so to speak. Have fun. It's all trial and error, but you'll do fine.
