That's crazy. How do they stay in business? This is the sort of store that I don't shed a tear for when the internet drives them under.

So I managed to gum up one of the coils in my Triton starter kit tanks and needed a replacement. Since I've only got 2 tanks I decided to bite the bullet and go to my neighborhood vapor shop because he had told me he had Kanger T2 coils and I've read here that they can be used in a Triton. He says, "You know these tend to be kind of expensive" and shows me 5 T2 coils with a price tag of $38:confused:. Since I only have 2 tanks I can't wait a week for the mail so I bit it and bought one for $7.60. Time to search online for a cheaper option. Any good suggestions? Good thing he doesn't stock Halo Triton coils.

In the part of San Francisco I live in the people that shop there aren't exactly "connected" to what's going on in the rest of the world. He's a nice guy that sells his cigarettes cheap, but all his vaping stuff is knockoff and subpar juice. Either he's really stupid or is a bad liar. That's the problem with most of the vape shops in SF. I still have to check out the Vapor Den.

I am sure that Kanger T2 coils will work. However, there are many FAKE imitations out there. You will be assured of a high quality coil only if you get them direct from Halo. I can attest that I have never burned up a single coil in almost 8 months of vaping. Some have had their wicks replaced twice already, but the coils themselves still fire up perfectly. Occasional dry burns keep them glowing like new. Yea, the Halo coils cost more, but it's not like they are expensive. In this case, you certainly get what you pay for. Just my opinion......

^^^^True that!^^^^
Most likely Kanger makes the Triton tanks and coils for Halo. And yet, the ones branded "Halo" just seem to perform better and last so much longer than the Kanger branded ones. I've not had a single problem with the Halo's in 8 months of use either. (knocks on wood here) Thanks much for the teflon tape rewicking tips!

The Triton tanks look to be Kangor T2's with KR808-D fittings.

No reason not to believe Kanger is the manufacturer.

I would imagine Halo tanks and coils cost more because they are paying for better QC from Kanger.

You can get anything you want made in China at any level of quality.

If you are willing to pay the premium you can get a premium product.

Btw, the Halo mini tanks are straight up Kanger T4's.

Personally, I don't think Halo is asking a particularly outrageous price for their hardware.

It's worth a bit more, to have the convenience and support of a company that isn't half way around the world should a problem arise.

IMO, YMMV, etc., etc..

All that exactly. I just wish Halo wasn't located in New Jersey as I have to pay 7% sales tax on my purchases from them. Of course, if Gov. Christie has his way with the proposed vaping/ecig legislation, then that 7% will look quite cheap by comparison!:(

I wonder would that tax only apply to the people living in that state or all the companies in that state? Like if by chance new jersey manages to pass the tax, do I have to pay the 70% too? In that case these businesses will fall one at a time. Ohio wanted to pass the same tax and from what I just read they weren't able to but we all know how information is on the internet

I have to pay tax when I order things from California - 9%! It's unfortunately the law - if you anything is shipped from a company in your own state you have to pay sales tax. Which is why it's worth it to me to order from out of state and save almost 10% (at least on bigger purchases).

If the legislation passes, I think that this is how it will work here in NJ, at least initially.
If this turns out to be successful as far as revenue for the state goes, you can bet that other states will follow suit.

Johnny is right on with this one. While I realize that we're all on some sort of budget (some larger than others) I don't really see the rationale I trying to save $5-6 on something as important as the atomizer without which, you're entire device and juice is totally worthless and unusable. With the amount of time that Halo attys are seeming to last everyone on average, a 5 pack of them should EASILY last from a month to several months, at least, of pretty heavy use. Go ahead and spend what you once spent DAILY on analogs to ensure that you're device will work for months!
