Hi all, I'm new here but wanted to get your input on an issue I'm experiencing with my Bloog batteries. I use the white batteries as a standard and am finding that after a few uses they are starting to discolour, turning sort of greyish. Anyone else experiencing a similar problem? I have 4 of them, various lengths, and all are doing the same thing to varying degrees.

Any input would be appreciated.

I've considered that it might be oils from my hands but the change is so uniform I can't see that being the case. If it were from my hands I think it would be more concentrated to the areas where I am more prone to hold it.

It's not a paint actually but some sort of protective coating over top of the actual paint it seems. I got frustrated and took one of the smaller batteries and scraped the discoloured layer right off. Now it's white as white can be, no more weird greyish colour, jsut some minor scratch marks where I accidentally peeled the paint as well as the top-coat.

I've attached a photo to show you what I'm talking about. They start out the same colour as the cartos - I left one attached so that you can see the progression. The one on the bottom is my newest, and also the least changed. The two in the center are the originals that came with my kit which is about 8 months old. The top one is the one I scraped the layer off of today. IMG-20120522-00101.jpg

On a note of cleaning.... i would try some fingernail polish remover, you have the right idea just maybe not quite the right product. I am an automotive electronics technician so I work on everyhting from interrior electronics to engine electronics and my hands are more often than not pretty grimy. One of my first PV s was orange, like bright brilliant orange one so I wouldn't drop it in a car and not find it and two I really liked the color, all my snap-on tools have orange handles..... A few months after using my unit i noticed that the color of the other cone that came with it was waaaay brighter than my battery. I took a cloth and some acetone (same as fingernail polish remover) and a few quick wipes all the grime was gone and I had a matching set once again. I kept that pair of batteries going for almost a year and occasionally I would give them a wipe down to refresh the color. Eventually I had dropped them so much the paint was so knicked up that I took a razorblade and removed the finish to expose the stainless body. Which is much easier to keep clean. Just thought you may want to give that a try it worked for me for quite a long time. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a shot as I have not yet tried nail polish removed.
