In addition to adding functionality to the website to accept the APx designation for Armed Forces Personnel around the world, Mike announced this morning that Bloog is offering Free Shipping to them on an ongoing basis. I am proud to be a Blooger today!

Dave, I like your idea. Is there any way to verify the information on the id against your Bloog account information? Just brainstorming here to try and help facilitate this. Some information will need to be matched up for verification purposes.

Once the id is verified, they could add a "military" flag to the account information that the system would recognize and override shipping to zero dollars.

Dammit! I recently ordered a bloog kit and didn't know this! Is it just for APO addresses, or does it include stateside addresses as well? How do you prove you are in the military without an APO address? My husband used to smoke, and he's quit several times. Every time he gets deployed, he starts back up again. He's a non-smoker now, but admitted he'll likely start up again on his next deployment. I'm trying to encourage him to vape instead, and he's open to the idea. So of course, I'll be sending him with a Bloog next time, instead of a carton of Marlboros

I don't know how it would be set up in this case, but placed I've ordered from online in the past would take a fax or emailed scan of Active Duty/Retired Military ID or DD-214. Those seem like the easiest way to go. All Vets MUST maintain their DD-214 so all Vets should have numerous copies and the master.

I'm not going to email some random company a copy of my husband's DD214 or ID card for the sake of getting free shipping. Not only is it opening yourself up for identity theft, it's also not a fool-proof way of confirming someone is or was in the military. Any idiot with photoshop can download a DD214 and fill in the blanks.

I think a much better way of doing it is to place your order with your AKO email address. That way you aren't giving out any personal info, but it's a clear sign to the seller that you have ties with the military.

I talked to Mike via email and he wants to assure everyone that this is going to be done and is being handed over to the website programmers. There is a big push going on right now to get the LiquidFusion E-juice and new flavors added to the site. He said to thank everyone for their ideas and that Bloog remains committed to providing free shipping to its military customers worldwide.
