Yep. It's dry filler. The first fill you really need to almost overfill a carto to make sure it is completely wetted.

Leave the silicone cap on the connector end about half way. Put mucho juice in. At least 20-25 drops. Let the drops run down the inside of the carto on to the filler slowly so that it doesn't get into the center hole. About 4 drops at a time. Let it soak in.

Stand it upright for 25-30 minutes or until you see juice drop into the end cap. Add juice until it does.

Remove the end cap, blow out the carto gently from both ends into a tissue or small piece (2 inch square) of paper towel.

Dab the connector end with the tissue until there is no more loose juice. Or blow it out some more from the connector end and soak up the excess from the other end with the tissue/paper towel.

Attach it to the battery and give a few primer puffs without inhaling.

Well, that's my method for a new Boge cartomizer. Hope it works for you.

I had similar problems with some of them even when I would soak them, let them sit, and stand on my head for an hour. I took one apart and it was totally soaked through but the batting was burned. That was it for me and I ordered some fluxomizers from got vapes. I still have a couple of boxes collecting dust for emergency but for me 3 out of 5 bad in one box was not acceptable.

There is only one requirement for using Boge cartos sucessfully, you have to be smarter than the damn carto!

Thought that might get a rise or two

The implication is simple tho' there is a learning curve to Boge's just like there is with any other product.

I've ordered several boxes of LR units from smart vapes and so far only one defective unit.

Wiggle the center terminal so that it centers on it's seal. I've had to do that with several, but I never have had one that is actually defective.

There are numerous threads on ECF detailing the filling of the Boge's .. I myself insert a toothpick in the threaded end in order to cap any liquid leaking .. then drip in 20 drops, stand upright and let sit for a half hour .. then, drip in another 5 drops, and let sit upright overnight ..

At that point, drip one drop in the threaded end after removing toothpick and then blow excess out from open end thru threaded end ..

Using this method, I have had units last up to 10 days with no noticable change in quality as long as I keep the filler moist ..

So...what does dripping a drop into the threaded end do? Don't you just end up blowing it back out? Not trying to be smart...it's an honest question. This is exactly how I refilled mine as well minus the drop into the threaded end.

That is just a little extra insurance that the element has been fully saturated ..

The one bad unit was not built correctly. There was bare element inside the air tube.

Next time your carto gets stiff, and you are about to trash can it, run a thin paper clip in from the termanal end. When the paper clip comes to an abrupt halt you will know where the element is (all pluged up with backed on juice) Wiggle the paper clip around a bit and it will break up that baked juice, and slip past. Then guess what ... you have a carto ready for yet another couple of days of vaping. The coil sits right next to the center hole. Look through the center of a new one, it takes very little imagination to know where the coil is because you can see it.

that is where it is supposed to be.

there is the outerbody of the carto, just inside of that is the filler that retains the juice, and the air tube is actually made of cotton, and serves two purposes, one to allow a passage for air, and two, to provide a barrier so the coil does not burn the filler. The coil is inside the air tube, laying against the cotton sock, which also saturates to provide the liquid directly to the coil to produce the vapor.

Make no mistake if you let that thing get too dry (or not fill it enough) you are certain to burn through that cotton air tube and start burning the stuffing. keeping these moist by topping off is a must for longevity.

Thanks gents! I learned something new today! I guess putting a drop down the air tube does make sense then.
