Boge cartomizers on joye 510

I ordered some standard boge cartomizers from the Liberty Flights web site. and I tried them out today on my Joye 510 but it feels like i'm sucking on air. I have to draw really lightly on my e cig to get a good drag.

I thought maybe I got a dud, but i just filled a second cartomizer with a different flavor and its the same thing


I looked at the resistance of the cartomizers and it says 2.7 ohms. Was I sent the incorrect type? or is this normal.

Am I over fill? under fill? doing something wrong ? or was I sent the incorrect cartomizers?

Help ! I was pretty psyched when ordering them. I hope i'm not disappointed.

You have to make sure they're full. Shake 'em like a thermometer, they should look kinda wet around the top (without gurgling)
2.7 is OK for your 510. Do they crackle at all when you press the button?


*edit* I draw pretty lightly on the LR version on an old eGo battery to get a good hit

Hi. Yes. They do crackle. I filled them using the condom method. I let the second cartomizer sit for a half hr and its drawing much better! I guess you should let them sit for bit before you use them?

I don't use the condom method. An overfilled carto vapes crappy like a flooded atomizer. And underfilled one will singe.

Here is how I fill and what I use. I can get 10+ days out of each Boge. My current Boge has over 2 weeks of use (which for me is over a month because I vape 510 models 1/2 the time, and KR8 half the time)

How I fill Vapor4Life KR8 cartos and Boge 510 cartos

I use thin clear juice, PG w/ 20% or less VG and I avoid all juices that drop flavoring sediment in the stuffing (ruins drag and shortens carto life)

With the carto off the battery... Pop out the soft cap with an unbent paperclip in the mouth hole, very careful not to catch stuffing or the wire loop.
Shake and open the eliquid

Fill
Hold a bit of tissue on the threaded end hole, tilt the carto, and add 18 drops per ml of capacity into the stuffing (Boges and most KR8 cartos are about 1ml).
Wait 15 seconds or so then see how many more drops the carto stuffing will soak in easily.

Cleanup
Clean up the threaded end, tilt open end down into tissue, puff into threaded end to clear air channel (Boges and the KR8 cartos I use have a defined center air channel and I want to see light through that) While the carto is still open end down, touch a soft bunch of tissue to the top of the stuffing to get the loose juice - this will help prevent leaks.

Settle (first fill only)
Cap and let it settle - I lay it on different sides for 15-20 minutes to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so I won't singe the carto. if you use thicker juice than me (I use 20% VG or less) then you may need to wait much longer.

While vaping
While vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting hotter than normal, I take the carto off the battery and add eliquid. Also, I use such light sediment-free juices, I can look at the stuffing and see if it needs juice because the stuffing goes back to near-white.

I often use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on Boge and KR8 cartos (not to drip into since the juice would head for the central air channel). Easy to pop out to add juice.

I had some unfavorable experiences with the boges as well, both standard and low resistance ones. Long story short I really was impressed with the slightly different cartos you can get from the cignot website.

Whether it's my lack of knowledge on how to use the boges or anything else, one thing is for sure the cignot ones just work! Lol I sound like an apple customer but it's true... hope this helps!

I think I read somewhere that recent batches of Boge cartos had slipped in quality/performance.

might be just my luck then but as it is...it will be many moons before I put my money at risk again

Do not use LR cartos on the slim 510. LR cartos are for the big battery models like Ego and mods - things with 450mah+ batteries. They can damage the slim models.

Don't be to quick to blame the carto, maybe you need to blame the battery.
There really is a reason that most of us use larger ones.

But, it is not all that uncommon to run into a carto, or an atty for that matter, that will have to light a draw for your liking.
Here is a simple solution:

See the o-ring? That is a 40 cent #5 o-ring from ACE Hardare. Just slide it up with your thumb nail until it partially covers the connection to adjust the draw to as stiff as you like.

He explained to me those Cignot ones are not really LR - they are 2.7ohm and fine for 510. Boge LR's are 2.0 and not for slim 510.

Also 35% VG is a bit thick for most standard stuffing cartos. I can even feel 30% ruin the airflow. Maybe the Cignots have looser stuffing or the extra heat of 2.7 loosens the juice a bit.

oof, if that's true, then my cartos are in trouble! i just received some liquid from AVE and when I tilt the bottle it looks like a slow-mo action shot what do you suggest for a 280 mah battery and thick liquids?

thanx for the tip, when I upgrade (which seems that will be an inevitability ) I will keep it in mind.

but my issue is simple: a boge 2.7 compared to a cignot 2.7 to me, feels like there is no competition.
