To get rid of flavors between cleanings I flood the atty with 0mg zero flavor PG or VG, heat em up a bit then blow them out multiple times till the flavor is neutral.

For a real cleaning (which I do very rarely) I soak overnight in coke, pepsi, Mtn. dew, or whatever is around that has citric acid in it. Then boil water take it off the heat drop in the atty, swish it around a bit then rinse and dry with a blow dryer.

Prime with some more 0mg 0 flavor PG or VG them let them sit a bit before putting them back into the rotation.

Typically my attys don't go completely cold and dead I just get sick of them performing poorly after a couple of months and throw them in a bag for an emergency last resort kind of thing.

I store them wet but have no clue if it makes any difference or not.

I have gone back to ones that I have taken out of the rotation for a few weeks and they are dried up but as soon as I drop some liquid on them they work fine.

The only real reason I try to store them wet is because it seems like they did not taste right and had to be re-broken in after a cleaning and because they arrive that way from the retailers.

For the three months i have been vapeing i have had 1 atty go bad . i boiled it for 5 min let it dry overnigt and bam i still use it to this day. but i wonder sometimes for the people who always say "my atty's die in a week" what there cleaning method is or if they smoke their 510 like a cigerrette or a personal vaporizer.
yes i have had bad atties come in the mail the just Never break in right but have yet to ruin one with the excepting of the one i overheated and revived.( i was new to vaping and smoked it like a ciggerette not a vaporizer)

well here we are step by step:

1- blow out from cart side

2- hot water rinse, blow, rinse, blow etc. (try and blow asap after filling w/ water)

3- right into a pot of raging boiling water, enough so it will submerge the atty while standing upright, swishing exactly as stated in the post above. ( i salt the water)

4- stand them on end so that the threads are pointing up (will take a steady hand) 2 or 3 minutes

5- same as 4 except threads down (will take an even steadier hand) 2 or 3 minutes

6- swish some more

7- begin the dying method called the dry burn (this will ashen any remaining funk down there)

8- back into the boiling water, swishing once more, dry it then with whichever method you see fit, prime that baby and.. ahhhhhh... like or better than new.


this process should last 15 minutes depending on the amount of attys to be 'burned'; 10 being actual time IN the boiling water.


p.s. this has saved two otherwise non-functional attys from certain doom. this should be the standard for atty cleaning. 0 chemicals 100 % CLEAN

if you are going to boil your attys, IMO you really should use distilled water. H2O (dihydrogen monoxide) is one of the most powerful solvents known to man, molecularly speaking it's really sticky stuff. Distilled water is much 'cleaner', not many minerals or impurities clinging to it's molecules, leaving a lot more room for the water to do it's job of carrying away the 'junk'.

Also, if you are using tap water, as it drys it will form calcium deposits, lime scale, etc, on the heating element of the atty, not something you want.

I so agree with not wasting time. Although, I have found my self trying to clean them to be able to experience it for our customers....still..just chunk them and get a new one. The way I look at it.. your STILL SAVING money over smoking..if you didn't have the ecig..you'd be right back to spending 100-200 dollars a month smoking.. just don't cheat your self..enjoy your self and treat your self to a satisfying vape...

Heh - I won't chuck my best atomizer. It's over 7 months old, vapes like a champ, tastes fresh and clean (better than new, no primer) after I've spent about 5 minutes of my time cleaning it.

It's been regularly cleaned, modded for easier draw and produces immense vapor. I usually use it longer than the other atomizers in my cleaning cycle because it is significantly better than the other 15 I own. It LOOKS like hell because the paint is all chipped, but looks don't tell function.

Boiling resurrects my 510 atty's too. I let them dry for a day and then dry burn a few seconds. Then drop 3 drops of juice in and prime a few puffs and they rip mad vapes again.
