I just noticed they have a Revolution LV and an Evolution LV.... what the heck is the difference?

Is the revolution only for oil? The evolution for herbs/plants?

Huh, just noticed that too. I was only looking at the Revolution before......seems from the description that the Revolution can work with both oil-based and solid materials......and I guess the Evolution is meant just for solids?

Email from manufacturer: ( I asked him about the Revolution, not the evolution)

"I have done some testing with the Provari V2 and it worked with the unit i had, however there is variation with each units circuitry that could cause it not to function properly.

I have also heard of a few people who had success with the Provari V2, no one has had one fail on them yet but that doesn't guarantee that one will in the future."

So I heard back from ThermoVape.

Evolution LV runs at 20 watts, 3.7 volts, 5.5 amps. This would be the equivalent of a 0.67 ohm atomizer, which is very low resistance.

Using a 18650 AW IMR battery, 1600 mAh, with a C rating of 15-20 (I got conflicting results from google) and you get a max amp of 15 or 20 * 1.6 = 24 or 32 amps.

In short, a 18650 AW IMR battery would be safe to use. At least I think it would... I'm not a battery guru, so someone should confirm my calcs are correct...

I've been reading the thread over there and I think I am starting to get it. He says for a 3.7v e-cig to get the Low Voltage atty, this one is the one I was looking for (for plant material, not for concentrates): ThermoVape Evolution LV (Low Voltage) | ThermoVape

This link doesnt work.... I can't find the low voltage one that isn't a kit with their battery unit....

The only stand alone vaporizer I see is this one ThermoVape Evolution Convection Vaporizer Cartridge | ThermoVape

I don't see it alone?

I'm not sure about that..... What mod would you be using that will deliver that kind of amperage?

Any 18650 mod that doesn't have a protection circuit...

The C rating is a just a maximum. Since 5.5 amps is well below the max for a 18650, 1600 mAh, AW IMR battery, it should be fine.

Link is working fine for me.. weird. Anyways, on the ...combustion forums the math was done and basically, you're going to want the battery they suggest because the amperage limiting on our devices is restrictive to a satisfying vape. You're best off with the full kit. Like Concat says, you'd need an extremely extremely low resistance atty to make it work properly with the Evolution. One guy on the combustion forums is using a Lil Chuck and it only last like 4 puffs before the battery dies and the puffs are meager at best. Someone used an Ego passthrough fairly successfully until it completely fried.

What a ridiculous name for a website. I have been going through the thread though. Nice to see the Manu. chiming in. I like that you don't have to stir or tap the botanical in between vapes.

If I see a reliable review on the 6v version and a coupon code, it's groveling to the GF again.
