Can I re-use an empty bottle with a different flavor? I have an empty I'd like to use for something else, but am uncertain if the old flavor will taint it.
I'd give it a good rinse out with some boiling water and smell the bottle to see if you still tell what the old flavor was. If all else fails, make a solution of baking soda and water and let it sit in there for a few hours. Baking soda SHOULD take out all old odors/tastes.
What flavor was originally in the bottle and what's the bottle made out of? Plastic or glass?
What the illustrious Switched said. CLOVE? Right up there with A.C...I think, (because I haven't checked it out myself yet), that you can just get little squeeze bottles at dollar stores. If not, most vendors do sell for DIY'ers.
Clove, licorice and anything with cinnamon in it usually retains the flavor for quite some time. I did have some luck with mixing some baking soda in some water and putting that in the bottle, let it sit over night with the lid off of it and by the next day it was alright.
I recycle my bottle just like everyone else. However, after a soak and a wash if they smell, they get tossed. I don't want the remnant of odour transfering to my liquid.
Can you get the bottle clean? like really really clean?
yuk if not. A little smell isn't the issue. If the slight residue was going to alter the next juice then mixing flavors would be really cheap
So little residue to alter the taste, just get it clean.
Thing has been who knows where, yuk.
