I constantly hear about people rebuilding coils. Is there a way to build mine in my nautlius tank so I could save some money on buying them all the time?

Any coil can be rebuilt. The easiest are straight resistance coils. Hybrid wires are more difficult to source..

I've never tried it, but somebody built the prefab coils you're using. There has to be a way. Try searching you tube for rebuilding Nauti coils. If there's a solid technique, there's probably a video.

I have rebuilt Nautilus BVC coils. It was one of the worst, not to mention we drilled the holes out too. You might not need to drill the holes on the 'newest' version, of course.

You'd do better to buy a tank with an RBA section/base.

The RBA designed for mini Nautilus created a lot of interest in the UK last year. Very few people use them.... there was a reason, I think it was something to do with physically getting the tank back together and the base not having quite enough room to screw into the glass section 100%.
