I don't have experience with those clearomizers in particular, but I am a fan of bottom coils in general. They offer a slightly cooler vape then a top coil would, and also do a better job of using up all your juice without having to twist or roll your device to ensure the wick is saturated. Also much easier to clean in my experience, with less flavor creep when switching between liquids.

Can you tell I prefer bottom coils over top coils? ;)

Edit: I use and recommend Kanger EVOD's, but have limited experience, so don't have a lot to compare them to.

Hi

Some vendors call CE3s "cartomizers," but they are really a clearomizer. I use them all the time, but many people report having leaking problems. I like them because you get 5 to a pack and they hold a small amount of juice, so I can switch around a lot. I've lost count of how many boxes I've bought, but I have at least 15 CE3 XLs on my desk right now.

Out of, perhaps 30, I have had one epically fail (the liquid is held in by a vacuum, so if the cap pops it's like pulling the plunger out of a syringe) and about 5 or 6 that appear to be reacting to "tank cracking" juices. In one my blog I said that they didn't react, but that seems not to be the case. They haven't cracked or etched, but are seeping from somewhere. It's so subtle I didn't even realize they were leaking until I noticed a couple were empty that shouldn't have been.

Like anything in vaping, some people like them and some people don't. Except for the ones I noted, I haven't had any other leaking. Six of them fit in an average sized medicine bottle and I throw one in my purse when I go out.

This is the best price I know of for them: CE3 XL Clearomizer [CE3XL] - $8.50 : Vapors Choice, Ecigarettes & Parts

Hi All - totally new to vaping just the past few days. Bought an eGo Twist and wondering what your experiences have been with a bottom coil CE3 cartomizer. Thanks for any info ...

I enjoy my BCC clearos. I've had 3 types, all by Kanger; T3, Evod and Protank. They are a good vape. There are lots of types now on the market (vapeonly, Ce3, Totally Wicked...etc) they are everywhere.
I prefer reliability over anything, so for general use I tend to stick with Mini Novas and sometimes rebuildable CE-types.
Always worth a go, except I have never recommended the T3.....that was a leaky dude. :)

Thanks everyone - appreciate the input. Ocelot, thanks for the CE3 link - bought 3 boxes from Vapors-Choice, then broke down and also bought a T2 Spinner Kit (1300Mah) from them ($60 seemed reasonable for batteries, etc) - after only a few days vaping, I can tell I needed back-up batteries. And great idea about the medicine bottle in purse, was wondering how I would carry around all my new toys. Any other suggestions for storage, carrying, etc?

I've been using the CE3s for about a month now. I like them much better than the CE4s(yuck) that I started with. I'm still on my first 5pk. Two have been tossed already, using two currently, one still in the package. I'm unsure exactly how to tell when they go bad. One that I threw out was leaking badly but I couldn't tell why or from where. Just noticed the level went down too quick and juice all over.

Otherwise they're pretty good. The syringe filling is kind of a hassle but not too bad. Just adds a little extra work.

I'm considering trying another type of clearo(Evod maybe), but I'll probably get more CE3s too. And yes, VaporsChoice is the cheapest I've seen.

It is a hit or miss. The CE3's have that primer taste that may go away. Out of five, just one survived. As for the Kangers, they are too airy and I don't get that much flavor out of them no matter the juice strength.

I lean more towards the top atomizer ones like the Mini Vivi and Vision clearos even if I have to tilt it a bit every once in a while.

The main issue I've run into when it comes to bottom coils...the design leads to leaking through the bottom past the coil, especially when the tank is running low. Provided it isn't due to damage, I've found that adding another 'flavor wick' to the coil head solves things... The T3 that I have has a coil wick and two small snips of wick that just sit free on top of the coil wick... they are there to fill in the gap where the coil is opened to the tank and keep juice from seeping in... so only wicked juice makes it in.

Some people immediately recoil with a larger wick... But I have some wicks I've snipped off of some old coil heads and they've done the trick.

Not sure EXACTLY what the mechanics are... could be a bunch of reasons... maybe when the wicks get uncovered when you tip the tank when its low... or the juice somehow creating some resistance to seeping when there is more of it.. not sure. But basically, add as many flavor wicks as you can without choking those two ports on the coil.

But I have a kind of love/hate with the Kanger T3.. when its running right, its a great clearo.. when its not, its a pain in the ..... But I've come to find that most everything about vaping is like that.

I just got the new T3S and what I love about them is they use the same coils as the Protank (which I also own) and from what I hear will fit the Evod. I planning on getting one of them also. So now I can just order 1 type of replacement for everything! And Discount Vapors have a great price 5 for 5.69!
