That usually happens with banned suppliers. No idea what the story is behind that one, though.

Haven't seen the Protank cheaper than that, so job's a good 'un.

There are some very noticeable differences (in terms of performance) between the bottom coil and top coil clearos. As you say: you either love them or hate them. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Well you can only speak as you find and I have been using both the Evod and Protank on a daily basis for the last month and both have performed faultlessly. I just fill em up, vape and fill again, no leaks, no flooding, no problems.

That reflects just about everything I've ever read or heard about the E-vod and the Protank, Steve. Out of interest - have you used any other kinds of delivery devices e.g cartos, atomizers, etc? If so, how does the Protank compare? I'm a part-time dripper/part-time carto tank user myself, and, I'm afraid to say, I've never been particulary impressed with clearos. The Vivi Nova V2.5 was much better than the previous versions, but still not an all day every day device for me. I've got high hopes for the Protank, though.

well it arrived today, and all i can say is it is absolutely fantastic. I filled is straight from the box with, usa mix 24 mg and it is true, it is a very loose draw. I remedied this by putting a tiny bit of blue-tac around two of the holes, and it is now vaping brilliantly.
In fact i have not put it down all day, time to order some new flavours now.:p

Cheers,Terry

That's great to hear. I broke down and ordered one last night but I hadn't see your post - really looking forward to trying it out when it arrives now!

Fingers crossed for the EVOD! I haven't actually had any gurgling at all with the Protank. I used to get constant gurgling on the T3, though. There are a couple of things that can cause bottom coil systems to flood:

1. Drawing too hard.
2. Getting juice in the center tube.
3. High PG% juices wicking too fast.

1 & 2 are just plain bad luck. 3 is a bit trickier, because what can you really do about it apart from changing your juice? I've mainly been using a 50/50 PG/VG mix and, like I said, zero gurgling. I did run a couple of tanks of 70/30 juice through the Protank when I first got it, but haven't tried anything higher than that.

The one thing I would say is don't be afraid to really tighten the atomizer head onto to base of the Protank. If you tighten it too much, you'll cut off the supply of juice to the wicks and you'll get nothing but dry hits. You only need to back it off ever so slightly from that point to get the wicking process going again. My advice: use the knurling on the post of the atomizer head to tighten it all the way down onto the base - as far as you can go. Then back it off maybe a quarter turn or so (perhaps not even that much). If you get dry hits, back it off a little bit more and so on. You want that thing to be as tight as possible!

Anyway - I digress. To get rid of the gurgle all I used to do was decant the remaining juice into a bottle, take the whole thing apart, run a Q-tip up through the air hole and blow out the atomizer head. Problem solved!

I did a quick search to see if anybody had come up with anything else, and found this video:

Fighting the gurgle in the Kanger Protank eVod and T3. - YouTube

He's pretty much well doing the same things I used to do, just in a slightly more imaginative/creative way.

Hope that helps.

yeah mate thats what i have been doing, just blowing it out.it does sort it for a while, then starts again.

its not a massive problem, and i can live with it. what i may do is get some vg from boots, and try adding some to all of my juices, which are 80/20;so as you say maybe they are too thin for the protank.

Anywho,i have just re-wicked one of the heads and i will try it soon and report back, thanks for the advice jj much appreciated.

yes i sure am jj, i absolutely love it. I will be trying the evod next time i buy something, just hope its as good as the protank. By the way,do you get the gurgling on yours ??? if you do,how do you solve it ?

Terry - I had read that there may be an air pressure problem as you go through your juice. The solution, when you have gone through about two thirds of your juice, undo the bottom cap and either fill it with more juice or put the bottom cap back on and continue vaping. I have done both methods with good success. Now, as a rule I just refill the tank after blowing out the stem. This gurgling issue has only happened to me twice in the last month.
My mini novas are collecting dust now that I have the pro tank. I'm using evod replacement heads on the pro tank, and I find that also helps with the airy draw. Hope that helps.

well after watching the video you posted and reading the comments, beneath the video, someone suggested placing some more wick over the coil. I did this and it has solved the problem,no more gurgling. Brilliant, and cheers jj
