Bottom Coils Rebuild ?

I am very much a DIYer as I am a professional handyman with a passion to tinker.

Is it possible to rebuild the bottom coil style coils (e.g. what the protank and mini pro tanks take)?

After throwing away 2 so far over the last several weeks , I would examine them and see the metal stem seems to be fine and the tiny wicks are shot.

Is it possible to just replace the little wicks ?

I know they are only about $2.00 or so a piece and I bought a bunch of boxes. But it would be good to know for the future in case of problems with supply.

Very much rebuildable....lots of posts here on ecf on rebuilding them

just google protank rebuild, and many videos from you tube will appear watch a few of them or as many as you can, everyone rebuilds a little differently, just pick and choice from the varying methods to come up with your own style.

then hop on ebay and get yourself some wire and wick

I rebuild those all of the time. Check this forum out and also You Tube. They have lots of great info.

They are rebuildable and imo, rebuilding them with a micro coil and cotton makes for a much better vape than the stock heads. And it's much cheaper than buying replacement heads. They most likely use low quality materials and tend to be pretty inconsistent.

All great info.... Just took recommendation and watched a youtube video once I had the right keyword search 'protank coil rebuild' . Excellent. No more throwing these out. Great for end of the world scenario.

Give cotton a try for wicks. Its my favorite wicking material

I'd recommend replacing the stock coils with 'microcoils' (all wraps touching). The increase in flavor, throat hit, and vapor makes microcoils the preferred coil rebuilding method. Not to mention that microcoils are much simpler to build that standard coils.
