Well I used a tube fed with pump bottle like a direct drip in a homemade variable voltage mod and it was epic but I just got a wetbox and reg resistance cartomizer and I've stuck with that since I got it in the mail. So they come real close but for right now I'd say bottom fed and yes it has been way cleaner than my top fed. My atty used to leak constantly but I also couldn't get a top fed with pump bottle pumping onto filler to work so I can't say for that. It may have not leaked as much or might've tasted better if I hadn't been just dripping onto atty. I made a post asking the right way to build a top fed but didn't get any replies. I eff'd up the drilling of the pump to fit the tube in bad so was trying to get some tips. And when I actually put a cartridge on it tasted burnt because my voltage was so high I think.

Ha I gotta quit rambling. Anyway bottom fed for me for the moment. :)

I voted for bottom fed with needle because of the luscious warm, moist vapor it produces. It's slightly less messy than a top fed with tube.

I have also had top fed with tube and it leaked constantly. But it did make great plumes of slightly cooler vapor. :vapor:

I plan to get a mini Reo some day... I've been dying to try it! Just gotta save my pennies!!! :2c:

Which do you guys prefer? The bottom fed with a needle? or the tube fed with the pump perfume bottles?

I've had great luck with the pump bottle. My mini-pump is awesome!! I can pump into cart filler or drip 3 drops per stroke. The bottle holds about 8ml and last me a couple days. It's a closed system and I've never had any leaks or spills except in the beginning when i flooded the atty. It's not fragile and can roll around the car or pocket. The 3.7v 900 mAh 14500 with LR atty gives a great vape!

I also built a puck in a 4 x AA box with a built in pump. That and the mini-pumps are my main vapes. I keep a couple mini's handy for variety of flavor. I've been vaping 555 in one, fruit punch in another and have my homebrew on standby in the puck.....

Puck with a pump! 4 x AAA NiMH make it an all day vape!

I was working on a bottom feed but bought the wrong size bottle on ebay but it was the perfect size for a pump so I went in that direction. It's worked flawlessly from the beginning and every puff is like it was just dripped.

There's only about an inch of hose between the pump and the cart on the newer ones so it's snug. The mini-pump is very easy to build and gives a great vape!

But I guess that's, as willy said, on me because the only experience I have using is the wetbox, and my rugged ugly looking home-made one. Poor box has been through so many applications with random holes around the box :) Learning is fun though. Also, wasn't really aware the spray pump was that old. Keep discussing please.

EDIT: stupid tab+space reflex. this was supposed to be copied into my last post haha

Thank you jim. You finally brought up the discussion I wanted. Why would someone choose appearance over precision?

I love the look of the wood mods like the Phidias. They're works of art! I was going to buy one but I figured the $155 would go along way towards parts for modding and I have no complaint about the vapor I'm getting now....

When I put the hose on the pump cap I put some hot glue around the hose, put the hose in the hole, hold my finger on the open part of the cap and suck in on the hose drawing the hot glue in until there's a vacuum and I know it's a tight seal. When I had thick juice and a thin hose I wrapped the pump nozzle with teflon tape to prevent leaks under the higher pressure. I've had great luck with this system.

Your bottle went out in Friday's mail! Anyone who needs one can PM me!

I'll go ahead and vote bottom fed with a needle, but no bottle and no pumping. Or, bottom fed with a long lasting wick.

I wondered if a long wick would work like an oil lamp, maybe using the silica rope used to wick atty coils. I haven't seen anything with a wick.... does it work? It's kind of what raidy's doing with the mesh wick in his genesis attys.

How's your auto feed working out? The one I made worked great and then I went to "improve" it... now I can't keep the juice from draining back down the hose within a few mins and it has to be reprimed all the time so not worth it. I should have left it alone when it worked..... (famous last words!).

Semi auto feed. It's a suckaton and still going strong, for the last couple of weeks with a 'carto for life' setup l3oertije style. Soon to be replaced by a genisis, which is still in building. I still like the suckaton, but why have 2 parts when you can have 1.

Because I have all the parts laying around for 2 parts, just not the 1 lol :) ultimately this is where I'm headed too.

i have a a wood reo, a reo grand, a phidias w/feedimus n just recently sold my VV ali'i but purchased a standard ali'i instead. the feed system on the ali'i is flawless. the grand n wood reo feed pretty much the same, no leaks but is more prone to flooding out of all of them. but once you get it down, its heaven. of all the phidias has the greatest learning curve but not once have I ever flooded an atty. I am waiting for fono's latest run that has an integrated catch cup which was everyones complaint about the phidias. by inverting it to feed it ensures that you are feeding all parts of the atty and the vape was exceptional.

I am making a bottom feeder and am going to use a variation of the ali'i n the reo. I love the coupling system of the ali'i and the deeper resevoir of the reo. will go with a tube in a 6ml bottle but no needle. at least that is what I am shooting for.
