Here is a quote from vapingguides.com:

"The primary additional capability available today is juice feeding: side, bottom, or AVS (between the mod and the atty). All but AVS are box mods containing a bottle of e-liquid (and the battery, of course). A juice-fed mod replaces the need for cartridges and cartomizers, as well as dripping or dipping. Necessarily, they are larger (usually wider rather than longer) than mods using the same battery"

I hope this helps!

Can someone give me a quick rundown of how bottom-feeders work?

What are they?Box mods that carry juice and battery inside the box
How are they setup?juice bottle with a tube that feeds your atty or carto from the bottom
Pros & Cons?Pro's-no more leaking tanks, fiddling with filling carts/cartos, no need to drip Con's-I haven't found any
Examples?Others will surely recommend more, but all I can endorse are REOS. After my first one I quit looking for the next best thing.

Thanks.

On the gold mini you see where your atty or carto screws in. The juice feeds into the atty or carto from the bottom. The battery and juice are both contained within the box.

One advantage of bottom-feeders is that, once you master the amount and frequency to "squonk" (refill the cartomizer by squeezing on the juice bottle), you find your cartomizers lasting four or more times longer than they do in non-bottom-feeders. At least, that's been my experience.

Using a bottom feeder is the most convenient easy way to vape I have found. I'm using the V-mod xl at 6 volts with a 3 ohm carto and it works well. Also has a 9 ml bottle that I fill every two days. I use a vv Krimson Kustom bottom feeder that uses 2 14500 bats and has a 3 ml bottle that is very pocket friendly. I have used carto tanks on tube mods that were alright until I used a bottom feeder now the tanks just don't interest me. Do a lot of research and look at reviews. Good luck too you!!!

The other is a Old Goat 3.7 bottom feeder. On sale now for $25 shipped
Old goat 3.7 bottomfeeder sale $25.00 !!!!

Agreed: the Old Goat is quite a deal at $25.00 and gives you a chance to try out a bottom-feeder for very little coin. I've had one for about six months and it's proven to be trouble-free. I've ordered another six to keep my single Old Goat company.

P.S.: The $25 Old Goat deal is for the 3.7 volt in black. I don't think the painted or other-colored ones are on sale.

You can go here and watch a review on various bottom feeders. This is Part 1 and there is also Part 2a and Part 2b. It will give you a comprehensive overview of bottom feeders and the differences between them. Geek Girl is a very knowledgeable reviewer.
Battle of the Feeder Mods, Part 1 - YouTube
Ok, after watching that, it seems they have a bit of trouble with leaking/pooling. However, after reading some other comments, people say that's not much of an issue once you get the hang of how much to feed/squeeze...this is where another question pops up:

The reviewer in the video was using atomizers. Quite a few commenters have mentioned using cartomizers with their box-mod/bottom-feeders. Does the filler in the cartomizer help keep the juice from flowing back out of the cartomizer into the catch-cup at the top of the mod? When using a bottom fed mod, do cartomizers help minimize/eliminate the juice spilling/overflowing out of the catch-cup?

You can also use an atomizer with the Reos. You would be, in effect, dripping, just adding eliquid to the atomizer from the bottom by squeezing the bottle instead of dripping on the atomizer from the top.

I have never had leaking from a Reo. The catch cup is just an emergency measure in case you went hog wild with your squeezing. Generally, you will never need it, and it will never have any liquid in it.
