Isn't kind of ...fascinating how quickly the taste and smell of cigarettes become unappetizing. I don't understand it either, The. Were you surprised? I was. Had a friend over last weekend who smokes. I took one of hers and lit it, had 3 pulls and thought YUCK! Why was I doing this for the last 20 years? It's really kind of a weird experience. I think it's because we're vaping these yummy flavors, instead of just quitting cold turkey, and when our tastebuds 'compare' our delicious vaping flavors to a regular cigarette...NO LIKEY!! :D

I've been vaping for a little over 2 months now. I did the cold turkey thing at first, but after the first month, I also had to "have a cigarette". I find that I enjoy them less and less. I'm at the point where I will have just one a day, right after I get up. For the past several days, I don't even finish that one. I think that part of my success so far has been to not put up any type of artificial restrictions. If I want a cigarette, I can have one - the pack is sitting right here in my desk drawer. I'm just finding that I really don't want or need them like I used to, and the little bit of craving I have now seems to be rapidly declining.

Even if I never 100% give them up, having one cigarette a day is multitudes better for me than the 40+ I have smoked every day for the past 30 some odd years.

Is sure is, Ms. Phx!!
"Why did I ever do this?"
My EXACT words to my sister this morning when she came by.

I could never go back to it, never.

Don't worry.. you won't withdrawl because you're still getting nicotine. It's just a mild detox process. I didn't even realize what was happening, but I've been waking up with a horrible taste in my mouth and it finally hit me that I've read about it. It's all of the tar and chemicals leeching out of my gums from years of tobacco. Crazy.

I guess once the lung cilia grow back I get to cough up black stuff, too, because they're the only thing that cleans the lungs and smoking kills them. Unlike everyone else, I'm going to be so happy whenever that happens. "Seeing results." LoL over here.

I've smoked over ten years and I don't have the smokers cough, at all.. I can still breathe fairly well.. I am just hoping I'm quitting in time because I really nailed myself to the wall living in alcohol, caffeine, meat and nicotine for so long.

WoW
People will give up anything before they'll quit. I read about this one lady who kept going back to smoking and having limbs cut off because of it every time. Sigh. I've seen two of my loved ones go to their death bed because they "loved" smoking so much. And not pretty easy deaths, either.

Yeah, look at the guy on Deadliest Catch, Phil Harris, a hardcore smoker. Had a pulmonary embolism last year, smoked through the whole episode of its initial occurrence, treatment and recovery. Smoked into this season until he had a stroke and died.

Before I knew he had died this year I was watching the first show of the season and thinking, "You know, I should send him an e-cig, he really needs to quit".

Just saw his son, Josh, using an ecig on the last episode of After The Catch and then found out he is a spokesperson for some ecig company called life-something or other.
