Bought fancy subohm coils but have no idea how to vape them properly ...help :)

Hey family,

I've been happy vaping a single basic coil
(.7-1.0) on my mech juice feeder for 3 years.

At a moment of curiosity I bought this octopak of fancy coils (claptons, tiger, fused, twisted) they range from .25 - .6 ohms to try them.

I quickly learned that not only could I not get them to fit thru the post holes on my only RBA . But also, when I went to use one that I did get through my mech didn't have enough power to vape it . It was a .5 ohm twisted or fused Clapton coil. While my mech mod was perfect to vape .5 ohm regular coil it doesn't have enough power for .5 ohm thicker fancier coils.

Questions

1. Since my mech mod won't push these coils at all what would be minimum mod specs I can buy for these .. like 80 watts of regulated mod should be more than enough no ?


2. Suggestion on what a good RTA tank that would have big post openings and would work well with these fancier coils.


3. How come a given resistance coils can require massively different Volts to heat them up? Are there any formulas or literature that explains this ? (I feel stupid for asking this - I just don't understand)

1- yes
2- Ammit or Merlin
3- Alot more wire in fancy coils. you run a heavy core say 24g or two or three 26G or28g than wrap it with lets say forty gauge wire which the forty gauge ups the ohms to where you want the ohms of your coil to be.

I would add one other suggestion. If you're going to play with high mass coils (like the ones you got) get a regulated mod that has 2 batteries. Yes, they can supply more wattage than you need for them, but you'll go much longer before swapping that batteries for new charged ones. If you were using simple round coils at 0.5 ohm and higher, a single battery mod would likely last you all day, but it won't with higher wattage that you'll need.

Oh, and buy something with replaceable batteries so you can put in a fresh set so one set charges while you use the other. I assume you have an external charger with at least 2 bays for your mech batteries, right?

My favorite so far has been my Sigelei Fuchai 213, I love this mod.
Its a dual battery mod, battery life is awesome, even at 54.4w .28.

Steam Engine,, gives insight into coil mass & heatflux.
You may need dualie, go thru SE first..

Wow. That looks pretty sick. Yeah I have to get a new regulated mod as I only have one right now. That one looks killer - best place to buy jr do you happen to know ?
