Ok so I am less than one week into vaping and bought a kit that included prefilled menthol cartridges. I got the modern vapor lux pv. I LOVED the pre filled carts so I decided to try the halo mentol ice juice with double coil cartomizers. I filled one using the "condom method" (I hope I am using the right term). I vaped and it SUCKED! I mean really. I like a lots of menthol minty flavor and this only has a bit of mintiness in the finish. The start of the vape is kind of medicine like or chemical like. I thought I was just doing something wrong so I put a few drops in my prefilled and though it was better it still had the same taste. I am thinking that I might have to buy a pure menthol juice to mix with the one I have. I know that I am in a learning curve so any suggestions would be most welcome. I would especially love to hear from any folks who like a minty menthol flavor. PLEASE HELP. Finally, with my carto, how will I know if I have filled it improperly? You guys ROCK for helping me.

Voidmist, in their diy section, sells menthol concentrate liquid, simple to use and strong.

The perfumers apprentice also sells menthol concentrate liquid.

Use it sparingly. Even adding about 1% - 2% should be noticeable. I just mixed some menthol tobacco last night, only needed 3% total of the liquid.

If you've got other juices to vape sit it aside for a week or so and then try it again. I never make a final decision on a custom mixed juice before two weeks or so as they can change, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Premixed or prefilled juices you don't generally need to wait.

Trying new juice or recommending it is an iffy proposition, everyones taste is different. I'd suggest staying away from larger bottles and buying a lot of smaller ones in different flavors until you find some you like, then you can get larger amounts to save on cost. If you like menthol you can also buy menthol crystals or concentrated menthol juice to add to any juice you like. That's generally the way I do it but if you do go that route be careful until you're use to using it, a little goes a lonnnnng way.

Sounds like you've filled your DC Carto the right way, you just want to make sure it's full, you'll know it's full when you drip in the top and the filler is saturated enough that a drop of juice comes out the battery hole. When that happens just blow trough it to clear the center tube from excess juice and your ready to vape.

I think your primary issue is using the Halo juice, try another vendor and don't get too upset yet, Halo juices seemingly are just 'like that', they have a strong chemical odor to them unless you let them sit for a few weeks.

I had the same reaction with Halo juices, mine had a horribly strong chemical odor and taste to them.
Really quite foul from the start.
I set mine aside for awhile while I started working with some other juices and actually just returned to it last night.
I took Torque 56, and all the ingredients that make a RY4: Caramel, Nuts, Vanilla, and I used some Maple too.

The chemical odor is mostly gone now after a month of steeping, and the RY4 flavoring I added to it have made it a very enjoyable vape for me.
It still retains the basic taste of Torque 56 with that biting floral accent but now acts more like an individualistic RY4 vape.

So, you gotta sometimes take a chill pill with this stuff, it takes time to get through our learning curves...but it's great fun if approached with the right point of view.

Don't expect any sort of vapable menthol to recreate the menthol you recall from cigarettes--nor, for that matter, any tobacco flavor to be a one-for-one replacement.

Vaping is an alternative, not an equivalent.

Having said that, I've had unfortunate experiences with the Ben Gay sort of menthol juice you're talking about.

Long story short, you have to try everything. I can tell you what worked best for me--and I will--but don't expect my sensory apparatus to match yours.

FWIW, here's what worked best for me: FSUSA's PureCig or Camtel were the closest facsimile to cigarette flavor I've found. When I ordered these specifying a splash of menthol to be added, it added up to the closest thing to menthol cigarette flavor that I've experienced in the vaping world.

Good luck in your quest.

P.S.: Try direct dripping, or a GOOD cartomizer (like an Ikenvape or a Boge). Carts suck.

I love menthol and minty stuff. I got Cinna-Menthol from Rockstar Vapors...too cinnamon-ish for my taste, but today I got a free bottle of menthol juice with my new Sparkplug. It's not like any other menthol I've ever tasted. It's like Cappuccino and menthol combined. I REALLY like it!! OTOH, the Coffe with Cream from Rockstar Vapes is pretty incredible as well.

Do you have any other juice around? You could try mixing it with a fruit flavor.

I don't even want to count how many bottles of juice I have sitting around that I don't like.

I got really lucky and actually liked the first juice I tried, nhalers nuport. Still vape it daily. Rocky Mountain Vapor has a pretty good menthol. Backwood Brew has a good tobacco/menthol.

Ok so I called Modern Vapors to ask them which juice they used in their prefilled. Of course it was not Halo but the MV menthol so I ordered some additional prefilled and some juice with high and regular levels of nicotine. I will also go to the local store called cigs and more. They have juice. I will see if they have pure menthol or some type of mint I can add. I am not giving up my vaping. I am going for a girls beach weekend (no hubby or son) the first weekend in August and the house we rented is no smoking so I have to have something to vape on the beach with my tropical drinks. I am going to sit the halo juice aside and maybe add a drop or two to each cart or carto that I use until it is gone if I can stand it. Can you say learning curve. So the purchase I just made will have to be my last one for a few weeks. I have gone a bit overboard but have been loving every minute of it. VAPE ON Peeps!
