28 gauge wrapped on a 1/8" drill bit. Compressed and made to autodrip. Just put a big cotton wick through the coil and into the wick but not all the way into the tank. Give it a two o'clock tilt and vape to dizzy. Lol

I've been toying with my new RSST today and after building a 28ga 7/6 wrap micro coil its sitting about 1.5 ohms (which is fine with me) and using a good cotton wick. But after about 8 or 9 good hits (with tiltng of course), I notice it was'nt wicking very good and getting a dry hit. I took the fill plug out and it instantly helped. Someone needs to invent a small plug like one way reed setup that we can insert in the fill hole so we dont spill juice out the fill hole and stop the tank vacuum effect. Dibs on the patent if its possible hehehe.

After you say that, aren't their carto tanks with fill holes on the side? Couldn't these do that too? :p

On my AGA2, it's fill hole is covered with a screw. So I just loosened the screw some. That works well, leaks a tad, and could be a little airier, but overall it's been a good 50/50 effect.

Maybe there's a screw that'd work on the RSST?

I too wonder about this. I got tired of screwing with the RSST after a few attempts with 30 gauge and Ekowool.

I followed advice I found online about making the coil and wick setup and did it as follows took 2mm eko folded a section about 3 inches long in half. Pulled it thru the wick hole and then trimmed the end where it just makes contact with the bottom of the tank. Took a small screw driver about the same diameter as the wick did 4 wraps and hooked it up. 1.5ohm but it just didn't fire well. I think I am going to just get some mesh and try again.

    Any tips?

I got my RSST the other day and I'm loving it. My first genesis style atomizer that I'm enjoying all the way around. Looks great. Works great.

My build: 3mm SS Cable with a small wrap of 400 SS mesh at the top for the coil. 3 wraps of 28 gauge kanthal. Ohm's out at .75Ω

    Vapes like a BOSS. ;)

EDIT: Thought I'd add that I found the stock air hole pretty much unuseable. Started drilling it out to 1/16", but ultimately wasn't satisfied till I drilled it out to 3/32".

Well I ventured out to a new local vape shop, well new to me Vapor Safari in Maitland, FL and they gave me a nice long tutorial on making a coil/wick with SS mesh and I got it now. So I will be using mesh for now, and maybe later on if I feel the need I will switch or try out ekowool again.

Good folks at Vapor Safari. There are lots of good RBA builders in the Orlando area. Hopefully, you belong to the Central Florida Vapers' group.

looks like your going subohm... mine is setup with 3mm Silica in the tank hole with a bed of cotton on top of that ( the silica feeds the cotton bed) Coil is 30 ga approx. 7-9 turns on a .080" dia. drill bit ( 1.5-2.2 ohms). I run either 3mm silica or cotton inside the coil and tuck the ends under the cotton bed to aid in juice transfer. Watts run at 7 - 11 depending on juice flavor, viscosity, and desired vapor density.

    BTW the coil is horizontal

Currently running an RSST with a 2.0 ohm micro coil around tightly wrapped 400 SS Mesh wick on a Maraxus and nothing in the less than $100 range of atomizers I have even come close in flavor or cloud density.

I'm pretty new to rbas as well, but did a 1 ohm microcoil with 28g. I used both mesh and cotton for a wick. It seems like I never get hotspots when I use microcoils. It's gets easier with practice. Right now I'm using a single wire dual wrap at .07 ohms with as mesh. This is a little trickier because you have to poke around the coils to fix the hotspots.

Glad you found it. FYI, the one in the picture is the clone by Ehpro, I also have an original by Tactical Workz but it along with all my other originals stay home and I bring my clones on the road with me. In all honesty without having the two side by side it's all but impossible to find the differences.
