Bow 30, clone of iStick 30

A week ago I have bought Bou 30W which is a clone of istick 30.

On page of Angelsigs it is written it can go from 2W to 30W, and it is a lie. I hoped it is improved version of iStick, but seems it has the same circuit in. It starts only from 5 W, and quite often I like to vape at lower wattages (you know, to suck on pacifier without really spending any juice). And it is a bit too small to be comfortable. Vamo is still better, and I can just replace batteries instead of charging the whole device (where are phones with replaceable battery?)

Otherwise it feels very sturdy, buttons are solid, battery life is good. I have not used iStick, but think there is practically no difference.

I am a bit afraid to order things with batteries from fasttech. It may take forever to deliver.

Probably not a "lie". More likely Ohms Law is in play. According to the listed specs, the Bou operates from 3-8 volts. If you are using a 1.8ohm atomizer the lowest wattage you can achieve with the Bou is 5 Watts. Had you bought an authentic iStick 30 you would be able to reach 2.2 watts with a 1.8 ohm coil.

Personally, I'd just spend a couple of extra bucks and get the real thing. Not worth the savings if it's not as good of quality.

The Smart's aren't really clones, they're just re-branded.

How do you know about quality? Have you tried both?

I wanted to check if I like box mod and built-in battery. I'd better try for cheap, no buyer's remorse then. I found out that box mod is OK for me, built-in batteries - weird. I still like my old Vamo better, but I'll find uses and for Bou.

I don't know... For RDAs, I do use 1:1 clones for there's REALLY no difference in performance, not unless I buy a really crappy clone. But for mods? especially the regulated mods, I don't think it's a gonna be good, buying a clone. If your clone mod works for more than three months, please post again and let us know!

I've never used these products, but you need to be careful with any item containing a battery originating from China. The item may be rebranded... it may be a clone. Either way, a lower grade, less safe battery might be in it. Spend a few extra dollars and know what you're getting. Keep in mind, you're not buying a mech mod that you can put your own battery into. And you cant open these up to see what grade of battery you get. This thing is going to be inches from your face. Not worth the risk.

iStick was unproven (for me), but I was interested if I am missing something. I have proved for myself I have missed nothing. I do not need iStick; I can use it, but I simply do not need it. And I have paid less for my learning by buying Bou. Chinese clone of Chinese mod - it is quite possible it is made by the same people.

You are so wrong...
I've learned everything I needed.
1. It's form factor (1:1 with iStick) is not comfortable enough for me.
2. I have checked if I'll like build-in battery. No, I do not like it.
3. It can be a nice small thing when I want to keep my vaping gear in a pocket - so no worry, I'll use it battery.
4. Not bad, but I would not buy it (I mean iStick) again.

If you like iStick - good for you, you have found what you need. Just do not try to make me to like the same thing.

Yes, I am dragged in some unwanted discussion. It was not my goal to badmouth iStick, I just wanted to say that there is a decent iStick clone, but for me it is not the best device.
May be I should retire from this thread.
