Sigelei all the way. By far the best quality of the chinese made boxes, great and totally comparable to my american made mods. In the 100$ range you could afford a 50w, 100w +, or the 150(my personal favorite APV). I have plenty of mods and Ive frown to trust Sigelei, their newer products in particular have set a new bar on quality from foreign made mods.

Looking into getting a box mod but don't have a whole lot of money to spend. I understand that I can't get the best quality but still looking for something decent in the 50w range. Also trying to stay under $100.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but there are several places you can get the Sigelei 100w plus for about $90 -$95 shipped

I'm looking too. I currently have a 20 watt iStick that is crapping out after 3 months. The 510 connection is messed up, I'm guessing because of the non-spring loaded connection. I think people are gonna complain about the 20 watt iSticks soon, especially if they use them every day. First off, the 30 watt came out like 2 weeks after I bought mine, and now 3 months later and I have to fiddle with the connection to make it work with a few tanks. Also, I think it runs hot. I was looking at the MVP 3.0, (sold out everywhere) but I'd be down to get something that goes up to 50 watts as well. I just like being able to charge with a USB chord instead of having to buy a battery and battery charger, etc.

How have the OCC coils been treating you? I use a 1.2 because I only have 20 watts to work with, but honestly, I don't even need to power it up that high and the subtank (nano) gives some really hot vapor. Even at 13 watts. I am using a coil that has only had about 12 mls of liquid run through it now at 11.5 because it was tasting burnt yesterday. Strange I know, but its on a 20 watt iStick so its running hotter than it says anyway supposedly. Would love to get more info on this. I need a new mod though, the iStick just is not cutting it.

There's a bit more things you need to consider. First, do you have batteries? if so, how many. Do you have a good charger?

The reason I say this, is what most people forget, is that the Istick comes not with just the mod part, but it also has a built in battery, and a fairly good one at that. If you're going from an EGO to a box mod, then you may not have the 18650's laying around.

In general, 15-30w takes one battery, 30-50 can usually take one or two, but the one battery won't last as long, and needs to be a real good quality for the higher wattages, and the 100w watt box mods usually take two batteries, anything more, and you're probably looking at three batteries. Each battery is an additional $10 purchase, and an additional $20-$25 for a good charger for those batteries.

The Istick 20 comes with a built in battery, and is 20w. The Istick 50 has two built in batteries. IF you're on a budget, then that's the way to go.

If you have 18650's laying around and a charger, you'd probably want one of the higher wattage mods. Just make sure if the mod requires two batteries, you have a matched pair for both safety and battery longevity.

As far as the wattage goes, I would say it depends on how many coils you like. I personally prefer a 1.2 to 1.4 ohm coil running arround 4.7 volts. That works fine with both the istick for single coil, and the sigeli for the dual coils. I am by no means a cloud chaser, but I do produce enough vapor to satisfy me.

For price, the Istick 20 @ $30 is a good deal for a 20w
The MVP 20 for $33 is a good alternative, though I'm running on people's past experiences with the original MVP.
The Istick 50 for $55 is a good choice if you like dual coils, or single coils with more battery life.
The Sigeli 100w for $90 is a good option if you already have batteries and a charger.
Being a fan of Sigeli myself, the Sigeli 30w mini for $37 is very interesting, and might be a good rival to the Istick market.
The IPV V2 70w for $70 fits your budget, but I'd be concerned about running high wattage with a single battery as far as battery life is concerned

This is by far not a complete list of box mods out there, but those are the ones that I am interested in and something for you to take a look at. I would consider how you vape, and the gear you have and use before getting into the box mods.

I started with the subtank nano on the kanger k-pow 15w. Always vaped around 13-15 w. Dropped down to 12 mg nicotine, air hole wide open. 1.2 ohm occ which I was very happy with. The deal with those are, take fast hard draws. Slower the draw, the longer it heats up=the hotter the vape. You WILL find the sweet spot. I am with you.. I need a nice cool vapor with still a throat hit. I was able to achieve that with this set up.

Once I got the K-box, i also grabbed a subtank mini. I threw in the stock .5 ohm coil.. then i built my own .5 ohm coil. (My very first experience at sub ohm). It was absolutely necessary to drop to 6 mg nicotine. The vape was WAY TOO HOT (for my liking). I then built a .8 ohm coil and started vaping at 20-25w max. It is a little warmer than I like, but by no means is it hot. And the vapor production is just unreal. If you purchase this tank, Rip trippers on youtube has a great video on how to build the .5 ohm coil with this tank--do exactly what he says, **only add another wrap or 2 to. I will only use the OCC coils on occasion now, and only in my subtank nano.

hope this helps!

Thanks that does help. I have noticed that taking a super hard fast draw first cools it down (Its also like 10 degrees outside but inside it works as well), but I think you just absolutely have to lung hit the Nano. I have left it on the wide open hole pretty much the whole time but when I did fiddle with it, mouth to lung was just not the same as lets say, a Nautlius. Much hotter, and the air flow begs you for a lung inhale anyway. I don't mind that but I do like having the option. I have only use the 1.2s like I said, but we will see I am going to get a new mod soon that can handle the 0.5's. Any idea how long these coils have been lasting people? I try to get 30 mls of liquid through a Nautilus coil if I can but right now I'm vaping 100 Grand which is a cinnamonish vape, seems like the coil is close to done at around 15mls. I have been looking at the K-Box, they just got it at my local shop (where everything but the juice is wayyy overpriced, they charged me $25 + tax for a 5 pack of OCCs), and it looked nice, was thinking about getting it online. Can you charge it with a USB once you buy a battery or do you need one of the external battery chargers?

For all things iStick including how to fix the 20w 510 pin and why the 20w runs hot. These problems have been fixed with the iStick 30w.
