I have the Choice 7's kit. I am wondering about compatibility between different manufacturers. My search has yielded no conclusive answers. This link: e-Cig Thread Sizes - The PUCK e-Cig Mod mentions various sizes but not any that match the 7's brand. I measured one of the cartomizers/atomizer threads for the 7's to be 7 mm diameter (actually 7.25 mm) x 0.75 mm thread pitch. I doubt that 8 mm would be completely compatible but the diameter difference likely would not be a problem though it would easily slip between the threads due to the 0.08 mm difference. I have read and heard that the 510 is compatible with the 7's but a local smoke shop who has dealt with the 7's brand says they are not a match. Based on my measurement and the link above, they are not the same. I did purchase a Atmos Ultimus tank/clearomizer today that fits the 7's battery (female battery connection). It connects securely and works just fine.

I have also read that the RN4081 (here: No. 7 E-Cigarette Review - Vapegrl) and the KR808D (here:My 7's Review No. 7 E-Cigarette Review - INNOVATION VAPOR) will fit.

Anyone have any thoughts or solid info about this?

Any input will be appreciated. Since I have made the initial investment with Choice 7's, I can move on from here since I am so new to the e-cig realm. I do not care for the latest and greatest, just something that works and won't cancel the cost savings over analog cigarettes. Long term I know I will save a lot.

Sadly, many of the "beginner"-type setups and various cigalikes use proprietary diameters and threads to hook you into only buying their supplies.

At this point, the vaping world has pretty much settled on the 510 standard, with 808 being a distant second.

I suggest you email whoever sold you the Choice 7 to find out what the size and threading are. Alternatively, check around some of the ECF vendors to see if you can find a converter.
Added later:

That Vapegirl website seems to be a thinly-veiled vendor's puff-piece site. Vapegirl is even unaware of basic vaping terminology. Here's an example: "I started e-smoking two years ago . . ." Sorry, Vapegirl, but it's called "vaping."

As I read further, it says the thread type is RN4081. Vapegirl says, "If there's any knock against [the No. 7 setup] — and it’s a rather large one — it’s the fact that the RN4081 threading on the battery isn’t particularly common." Sorry, Vapegirl, that isn't just a large knock, it's a fatal one.

But, again, check around. Maybe someone makes an RN4081 to 510 converter.

I measured the thread size myself and listed that spec in my post. I found a link that listed many different size specs but that is not on this computer.

I did buy a Atmos Ultimus tank that fits perfectly on my 7's battery. It states it is the 510 size.

Great! Then you're home free, 73ckn797!
7's has their Hybrid battery which will accept their regular cartos with a cone adapter. I cannot get the cone adapter for the regular cartos with out buying their Hybrid kit for $100. The battery is only $25 by itself. I wonder whether it is really just a matter of asthetics with the cone or if it is a functional issue. The Atmos doesn't look smooth but it works on the standard 7's battery.

Could someone measure their 808 or 510 threads for diameter and pitch? The battery I have is a female connection. The Cartos are male threads. As mentioned in my initial post here the carto is 7mm OD by 0.75mm thread pitch. That will be the conclusive info I need. I am trying to decide on whether to just move to an eGo battery or get the 7's hybrid battery.

Ran across this:
808= male battery/female carto
510= female batt/male carto

The 7's are 510 according to this info but I still do not have thread info.

I found an eGo starter kit with 2 900 Mah batteries and 2 clearomizers for $40. That seems like a good deal, especially if the 7's accessories I already have will fit.

I would just buy the ego kit anyway. Honestly, it'll be cheaper in the long run.

I guess this would work if it is really rn4081

I am beginning to feel this is my best option. I tend to be brand dedicated but also realize there are alternatives. Being in the auto repair field for 37 years I usually recommend going with OEM parts but also know that Non-OEm works just as well in most cases. Cost being the determining factor. I found a local supplier who offers the deal I mentioned earlier. That will save on shipping costs which enhances the value.

I would still like to know the specs requested.

The 510 is a 7m x .5 thread and the RN4081 is a 8m x.75 thread, hope this helps out

My measurements were 7.25mm OD by 0.75 pitch on the 7's hardware. I used a caliper for the OD measurement and have a metric tap & die set with a gauge for thread pitch. The 0.08mm difference to reach the 8mm OD may allow for a near perfect fit as long as it will tighten securely.

The Atmos tank has a recessed male thread so my gauge will not fit into it the make a measurement.

I believe that this may do the trick. I have found out that the Atmos Optimus tank that fits my 7's is not the 510. I thought a KR808D would work but the batteries are male threaded. I still can't find any thread specs for the RN4081. My local tobacco store has the VaporX XL and the Atmos Raw which are a perfect fit to the 7's. Still there is no info on the thread type. I may just buy an adapter like the one you posted and also a 510 to RN4081. That way I can still use what hardware I have. I will most likely be getting the eGo kit.
