Hello all.. sorry this is my first post.

Been vaping for over 5 years now. Started sep 22nd 2009.

I may of posted on here years ago but since changed emails a few times and moved.. no idea. I don't do forums often.. mainly pc hardware forums if ever.

Anyways to the point.

I've bought an athentic derringer v1.2 , last one from an online vender for $71 after discount. Took forever to get here first class mail. So much that I could not wait anymore and noticed how cheap the clones sold for and found a local vape shop just down the road from me that opened up a year ago but had no need to visit.

They had one and a little too much at $30 but mentioned thst another local store I've seen advertised the price at $20. I really was expecting 20 anyways seeing them much cheaper onine at 8-15. he did give me a one time $5 discount. Anyways was happy since it had a black metal lid. Converted it to bottom fed even.

Now today I get the real one in the mail and first thing I notice is sharp ruff edges around the drip tip hole. Pull the top off and there was sharp ruff edges on the inne ring as well.. even the hole cut for the center post insert was real ruff with burs. Ok no big deal I can lightly sand those smooth with little effort.

Then I notice the biggy.. the 3 air holes on the inner ring look like there cut too high. The outer cutout on the lid basicly covers half the air holes! wow.. same on all 3 sets of air holes. And on ea set of air holes the left most hole is all cut the same.. larger then the other 2! Basicly I'd have to lift the lip up about an 8th of an inch just to unblock the air hokes.

If I put the clone black top on it the holes line up but the lid is slightly too large and wont hold. Also the real top won't even fit on the clone. Can't even fit it over the inner ring on the clone.

What to do cause the place I bought it froms policy basicly states no refunds! So I guess I'm stuck contacting the maker but have no idea how to contact thrm or who?

Wow that really sucks!

I'd still contact them and attempt to get them to make it right, that is a blatant manufacturing error and when you're paying $70 for something as simple as the derringer it better be pretty close to perfect.

If the vendor won't make it right, then make sure to post a review if they're registered on ECF, also may not hurt to harass whoever makes it too.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease, best of luck!

That's odd, I've not seen a Derringer with that problem. I have one and it's perfect. I'm wondering if your vendor got ahold of some poorly made counterfeits, maybe without their knowledge. I'd definitely take some good pics and email your vendor and maybe to the manufacturer as well. No reason to just sit on a seriously defective costly atty.

Yeah, you can talk about most all vendors, as long as you don't work for them.

Would probably hold off on calling them out till you know for sure they wont work with you. Most of the "Absolutely No Return" policies on RDAs are in place to prevent inexperienced people from trying to return devices they have damaged etc.

This is a product that was NEVER right to begin with, and its blatantly obvious you had nothing to with the issue.

I would be really surprised if they didn't make it right, and if they don't, most certainly call them out everywhere, Here, FB, Twitter.

Check again to be sure.

Many places say no refund unless DOA. And for 80 bucks I'd say that ain't right.
Unless I'm buying cheap junk in the first place I won't deal with that bs.

I can understand no rufund, but almost all decent dealers will do replacement even fasttech will replace a3 dollar clone

Maybe I'll contact both. Hopefully the maker can send me a new top or inner ring.. whichever the prob is with.

really sucks cause all I Wana do is put a coil on it and try it out.. atleast the center post don't look loose as many were reporting as I've read.

First time with an issue with any vaping gear I've bought and I've had plenty of rebuildable attys.

I did not bother emailing the vender but I guess I should.

That's the place you should start.

The vendor is responsible for providing service on all the hardware they sell. That's part of why they get a discount from the manufacturer when purchasing product. The manufacturer has no way of knowing if you bought a clone or an original.
