Like many here, I've wanted to quit smoking for a long time. A pack+/day for 25 yrs, and I was sick of it. I've made some really lame attempts to quit in the past, and always lit up again. Last week I said I'll never quit, because "I liked smoking". That mentality really helped me accept defeat.

On Monday I bought a Blu disposable to see what the e-cig experience was like. I puffed that, along with a 1/2 pack of analogs, through yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon I finished off the Blu. Yesterday evening I went to a local shop and bought (2) Atmos Optimus 510's, and (3) bottles of juice to start. It may not be the best product to start with, but after making it more than a day now without a cigarette, and being completely satisfied with the vapor(even after a good meal), it may be the best product for me. Yeah, it's only been a day, but it's the first full day where I've EVER gone without a single cigarette since I started smoking. That's a REALLY big deal to me. I've never been so enthusiastic about quitting smoking.

I found this forum this evening, have been reading, and wanted to say thanks to those who contribute and share their knowledge/experience. I won't ask you to wish me luck, just keep sharing what you know.

Hello, Welcome and Congrats!!!
ANY product is a good product to start with and get You off ciggs. Yes there are many many devices out there, getting started is the important part. This is a great place for information about all things vaping related, read the forums, ask Your questions and keep vaping.

Congratulations and welcome to it -- I'm new too, only five days in, but it's been a breeze. I never imagined I could go five days without cigarettes this easily, and feel so wonderful. Just wait until you notice how much better you start to feel physically over the next couple of weeks as your body begins to heal. Good luck and happy vaping. :)

Thanks for the welcome, and encouragement, everyone. Made it past the second day, and the vaping experience is becoming more enjoyable, and my confidence that I'm quitting the stinkies couldn't be higher. :2cool: A single battery is getting me through a workday, and I'm burning about 2.5 ml of juice in a day.

Congrats!!!!
Remember it's crucial you find a good juice flavor you enjoy.
This will help you kick the habit of those stinkies.

Welcome to ECF!!!
Where every quitter is winning :p

I must've burnt the wick sometime the first evening, and all I tasted was TERRIBLE until yesterday late morning. That didn't discourage me. It compelled me to find this forum. I was looking to find out what I did wrong. Got that straightened out, and a little melon flavor in with a 2.4 tobacco flavor is getting the job done for me now. Had to order some Unicorn and Gummi Blood based on what I read here last night. :D

Good deal man congrats! What's the story on the username?

Well, I passed the 1 week milestone today. Not a single cigarette in 7 days.:banana::banana:

I don't know if I ever could have done that if it weren't for trying the vape. It has made the experience of quitting smoking enjoyable. Who'd a thunk it?

Another source of motivation is the great group of people here on this forum. I'm sure you'll support my decision to celebrate my 1 week of not smoking with buying an e-vic, right?

I can't help myself! I couldn't resist the gadget factor.

Keep up the positive attitudes everyone, and vape on!!! :vapor: :vapor: :vapor:

Thanks,
William

Now where's that Unicorn Blood I ordered last week? :mail:
