I would pick up some aw imr 18650s the mechanical switch is designed around these batteries . Using Flat top batteries in a pinch I can see but using them all the time will diminish the life span of your positive contact

THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's my valentine's day present and it's SHINY AND RED AND BEAUTIFUL. I'll ask one of the vendors at the vapemeet in Memphis Sunday to bring me a couple AW IMRs to purchase.

You might also see if you can find a local battery vendor, like batteries plus, to see if they'll install nipples for you.

*giggled like a twelve year old boy at that*

I ordered some AW IMRs Friday from a DIY/RBA supplier I'm fond of. Should come in today. Along with a little red drip tip....

........

.......

I have decided that I need a tip that precisely matches my REO. This is the new quest.

I bought the flat top batteries by mistake ofc - because i have no attention span - but i just topped them with a rare earth magnet from Radio Shack and they seem fine too.

That uh... that sounds a tiddlybit dangerous? Idk anything about how that would work. (This is me saying, please share, I am curious about whether this is recommended/etc...)

It can be done. I use magnets on my batteries that are too small for my charger. I don't do it on my REO, but that's just me...it's a preference thing. Most prefer not too. But it's an easy solution if you need it. I would recommend just using the correct batteries, less pieces and parts to keep track of in the end. :)

Thanks! It's astonishing how much I learn about vaping every day.

I tend to agree. I had "flat tops" and they work, but you will wear out your firing button/firing assembly. It's not "ideal." Also, when I tried the magnet deal it made matters worse and I had the dreaded "orange glow" of my spring collapsing:facepalm:

So I don't play around anymore with magnets but it might have happened because I have a "raw metal" REO which theoretically has less protection than the other finishes when trying something like that? Also, the magnets may have not been the correct size (they were certainly larger than the "nipples/buttons" on the average AW IMRs.)

So it's become my one duty on these boards; to inform "raw metal" owners that we are walking on the "razor's edge!" HA!
