If you're prepared to spend money on a new one, you already have nothing to lose by trying to fix it.

I bought an EVOD BCC the other day and made a big mistake on my first cleaning. Removed the coil and notices a gummy substance sticking out of the sides of the coil housing. I assumed it was a byproduct of heating the liquid so I removed every bit of it out until I could very clearly see the coil. Put everything back together and went for a nice long drag. Sucked up a nice amount of juice instead of a puffy cloud. It turns out that "byproduct" was actually some type of gel wick for the BCC. Lesson learned. :)

The instructions (very vague) stated that the liquid is like uber toxic if ingested, and even more toxic if in contact with skin. And you had it in your mouth O-O" I really enjoyed the thing so far until my first refill x.x

Also I tried to do the blowing onto the napkin thing, but please correct me if I'm wrong. I unscrewed the Clearomizer from the battery? Or the Clearomizer from the tip?

The only time I blew into mine was a mistake and it flooded it. When you take it apart for a cleaning you should have 4 parts: battery, clearomizer, coil, and an adapter that holds them all together. I would just take it all apart and blow directly into the coil camber if I had to but I haven't had any reason to.

I'm bad about taking my new toys apart. I can usually get them back together in once piece but on occasions I'll get curious and take it too far (like removing the gel wick).

I'll have to apologize in advance for my lack of proper terminology. It seemed simple enough to me and I never read the instructions. I should probably do that at some point though.

If you start scanning through this forum you find that these guys take this stuff pretty seriously. I'm not sure what the average price of their setups are but they look a lot more expensive in comparison to what I bought. :)

Yup. Empty out all of the liquid and get to it. If you've taken it apart far enough to empty the liquid the only thing you have left to do is unscrew the coil from the adapter (assuming your setup is the same as mine). All I do is wash the tank and the adapter off in the sink, wipe down the coil and the battery with a paper towel, let everything dry, then fill up with fresh liquid.

Keep in mind your taking advise from a guy who was practically gargling liquid.

I'll just point our that if for example your using 18 nic that's really 1.8% nic not 100% nic, that being said many people get eLiquid on their skin or even a drop in the ole mouth, rinse with water u should be fine.

Now simple take off top and blow through center into a Kleenex or paper towel etc, once clear Vape on.

Lol, the coils good to get rinsed off? I'll probably do what your saying haha

I have accidentally gotten juice in my mouth more than once since I started and I am still alive. I think you'd have to ingest quite a bit before it had any bad effects. When I get it on me (have done that more than once, also--I am kind of a klutz) I just wash my hands.

And that goes for any liquids? (Probably another stupid question xP) I have the Buck Naked liquid

Knaps, don't feel bad, some of us, first time we filled a clearo, thought we were supposed to put the liquid in the center hole....ooops!! Doesn't hurt anything, you just need to get it out because you can't vape successfully that way. Don't be too afraid of getting some nicotine liquid in your mouth or on your skin; doesn't taste good though! Wipe it off your mouth/tongue, wash hands, and go on with your vaping. It's a different matter if you are making your own juice and dealing with a large quantity of nicotine....then you want to wear gloves and take care. Happy vaping!

no gel wick, just amorphous silica. kinda looks like a gel when its wet, but its just a non crystalline compound containing mostly silica that has been spun into a fiber.

Just to add my two cents, not only have i accidentally gotten some e-juice in the center tube, but it seems the liquid will eventually leak past the seals and get in there anyway. While the "blow thru it trick" will work Ive found it to be more effective to take some cotton off a q-tip (making it skinnier) and then it will slide all the way thru top to bottom. That has worked the best for me to clean the breathing tube (or whatever its called) lol

Another thing I learned today at the vape store is when the power is low to the coils, or just in general if your sucking or drawing to hard, the coils may not be able to keep up with the draw (allowing liquid to leak?) So slow down the draw and that has also fixed some gurgling problems. Just a NOOB perspective

I can certainly confirm that it was more of a stringy substance once I started pulling it out. Spun silica fiber sounds about right. I hope to never have to reference this component again. However, if I do I'll be honest with you... I'm going to call it a gel wick. :)

I do honestly appreciate the info though; I had no idea what that material it really was.

Watch lots of you tube videos. I am always learning and watch some of them over and over.

AbsoTOOTELY, LOL. (Grimm Green Reference) I have probably watched too many in the past week but the learning comes fast if you want a great vape and a safe experience.

Just today I learned something else by reading the Safe vapeing charts that explain the relationship between Ohms(resistance), Volts, and Watts. Remember that High School science? LOL. Well you want to calculate the proper Ohms, to Volts to not only get a good vape but keep from frying your device! UNLESS you have a variable WATTAGE device. (Like my awesome SVD) Im liking this thing more and more as I vape it. Now that I know I can just set 8 (or 10 etc) WATTS and the device then automatically adjusts the Voltage for the Ohms to reach 8 watts, makes my job (vapeing lol) ALOT easier.
Not sure if Im allowed to post links yet, or else I would post the Safe Vape Chart, but its easy to find.
