Hey guys, relatively new vaper. I picked up a VAMO as a backup for my Provari. I love the vamo, and have been using it a lot in the last 3 days. Great vape, no complaints. But.... it does this weird thing my other mods dont do (others being a smoktech natural and the provari). Its like the power flutters really really fast instead of flowing smoothly. Doesnt seem to effect the vaping at all. But i can hear it in the coils when they kick on.

I know im describing it terribly, i dont have the electrical background to do it justice, i'm sorry. I can hear my coils very faintly, and it sounds like a kid with playing cards in his spokes going a 100mp/h down a hill. Clearly a pulsing effect.

Is this normal with this mod? Could something be defective? As I said it vapes great, and hasnt burnt through any coils yet, but only had it a very short time and it did this out of the box.

EDIT: Ok did some more researching. I guess the vamo pulses quickly at a set voltage to get an average output that is within the range the user sets. Is that right?

Does AVG and RMS effect this? Right now i am set to RMS. Have no idea what this means, but from what i have read people say to leave it there.

The 'crackling' sound you are hearing is the power pulsing. All Vamos do this. This is how the vamo controls the voltage being supplied to your device atomizer.
The video below demonstrates how the Vamo does this. Long video, you can skip forward to about 21 minutes for the demo.
