Guys, I've finally managed to hold of some CLR coils, and looking to get some wires to rebuild with, together with the rba deck for the protank 4 of course.

Saw that there are branded wires (hcigar, UD, Coil Master to name a few), and was wondering if there are any difference? difference in price is quite high compared to no brand wires I found.

Anyone can shed some light if there are any differences to take note of?

Buying in bulk is much cheaper. UD is around 4-7 bucks (around here) for 30 meters.
The larger spools are 10-20 for 500'
I could be wrong.

If I wanted a large selection of different types and gauges to try I would not even consider a large spool of each as the entire spool(s) would be wasted if it turned out I preferred only one type. eg. 24g SS.

Once I knew what I liked I'd have no probs buying bulk. Even still, a coil can last me a couple months.
6"/coil approx. off a 30 meter(small) spool? Would last me a looong time. Cheers.

How do you make your coil last that long? My coil last me like a week at most. I have to change the cotton like every day.

Wow, the ones I found cost in the range of 20 bucks for 50 ft!

Share your secrets in making your wires last so long please!

Use 24g SS, lower wattage 35-50,
thin liquid high in PG 85%+,
minimal flavouring 2 or 3%(DIY), using Rayon wick helps for longevity also.

If you notice the shoulder of the wick, the part just before it enters the coil, gets darker than the rest of the wick. It is due to partly vapourized liquid being pulled back OUT of the coil when you stop vaping. This should not be happening as we want the liquid to flow only one way...IN to the coil.
It will cause the coil to gunk up faster and the wick flow capability to be reduced. The cause is from too much wick material on that side of the coil and it needs to be trimmed.

Usually only one side will wick the liquid back out of the coil which shows an imbalance of material.

If both sides/shoulders are darker than the rest of the wick then both need thinning/trimming. HTH. Cheers.
