Just curious but if I get a kmax brass mod that had the bronze/black chrome coating is there a way to maybe one day remove the coating? Without totally damaging the brass. I really like the way tarnished brass looks.

Hard to tell without knowing what the actual coating is. There are all kinds of paint removal treatments but they are generally dependent on the type of paint.
Best bet would likely be to sand with very fine sandpaper.

thanks, ill keep it the way it is till the coating starts to wear then ill try to strip it down some how
I can't speak to that particular mod, but if it's all solid brass underneath, sanding it should be fine. You use a heavier grade to get the outer coating off, and then reduce the grades one by one. The key is to polish out the scratches you made with the last grade before going smaller. Last step is to sand it wet with the finest grade.

If you can remove the innards of the mod and leave only the tube then brake cleaner might/should do it. So might coke, pepsi, monster, or any other heavy citrus energy drink. I used brake cleaner on a whole k100 i desleeved and the chrome wiped off but left the ?nickle? primer coating and completely destroyed the rubber gasket on the positive pin. $21 loss and leason learned. I only mention this if you can remove the innards. I dont think you can but i say it just to fill space apparently.
My second k100 i just took a dremel to it to remove the chrome and the ?nickle? coating down to the brass. I'm not in the process of sanding it going up and up in grit. It's looking pretty good and all for a mod i dont like anymore.

Haha well I know the kmax I'm getting is brass and I'm pretty sure I can't take the innards out. Especially the led screen but ill keep it shiny and new until the coating wears down then ill screw with taking the coating off and see what happens. Thanks

You could try posting here and see if anyone has ideas. I've seen it done and pictures posted but can't find them!!
