Okay so last week I saw a few posts on de-bridging, watched a few videos and thought WOW I've gotta try this when my atty is more than a week old. Well the thoughts of de-bridging danced in my head non-stop and finally the next day I did it! I just had to see what was up.
Currently I have: 1 de-bridged/de-wicked atty, 1 de-wicked atty, and 1 standard untouched atty. So that I can drip when I want, or run a cart when I want. If you only have 1 atty I would suggest waiting until you have a backup. I have debridged quite a few of them, and have not harmed 1 in the process, but not everyone is as lucky.
Before watching this video I want to post a few notes.
1. de-bridging is only recommended for DRIPPERS only. Once you remove your bridge you can no longer use a cartridge, as there is nothing to get the juice from the cart to the coil, thus will fry ur atty.
2. de-wicking will allow you to both drip AND use carts. So if you do both, this is prob best for you.
3. It is said that 5V and 6V mods run juice hotter, and unless you like hot vape, it's not suggested for vapers running above 3.7V again unless you don't mind a hotter vapor.
4. When doing this, you are doing it on your own free will. You cannot hold anyone who does this correctly as liability to you ruining your own atty. Again I have never screwed up any atties that I've de-wicked or de-bridged.
5. I suggest cleaning a USED atty before doing this as it's harder to pull the mesh out when it has corroded e-juice on it.
Things I have noticed with debridging: Better vapor, tons more flavor... a drippers DREAM! You only need to add 3-5 drops after you've cleaned a bridge-less atty and 2-3 drops when dripping. With my 510 2 drops when low works GREAT. I have had NO leaking and it seems as tho my coil is happier not to mention the flavors of your juices REALLY POP! You can see right down into the lil resevoir to see if you are flooding it, which is also another plus. Aaaaand... you can see your coil directly if you are someone who does a dry burn to clean your atty.
Enjoy!
Any questions just ask!
