Totally Welcome! Makes you love your atty and vape so much more, doesn't it? Where abouts in PA???

It really does make a huge difference, I love it so far. Is there any way I should go about cleaning this now that its bridgeless? I like to clean my atty in-place by burning off whatever is left, this makes it so much easier now.

Didn't even notice your location! I'm in Irwin, right down by Greensburg and that. I have a lot of family in Latrobe, its only half an hour or so from here.

yeah i de-wicked it for sure.

i bent out the paper clip to have one side with a bent L shape to use as a kind of hook and just pushed the mesh off to the side. the other end i just bent the curve down more narrow so it gave it more "grab". once i used the hook to pull the with material out, it stuck to the metal wall of the atty housing. then flipped the paper clip and used the bend to pull it all the way out against the wall. then packed the mesh down and out of the way of the coil. seriously took 5 min. but now that ive done it i think i can mod an atty in 3 or less haha.

I did this with a LR 510 atty last week. After two days of use my brand new atty had a horrible burnt taste and when I examined it, the wick seemed to be the culprit. So with a pair of tweezers and some patience, I got rid of the bridge/wick. I should note, that I hadn't seen a tutorial video at this point and I almost pulled the coil out of the housing. Thankfully everything slid back into place with no damage.

So far, I have more LR dripping experience without the bridge than with the bridge. The main plus for me is the horrible burnt taste is gone and the drops go directly to the coil without interference. Does anybody know if suppliers sell bridgeless atomizers yet?

I have been dripping for 2 days with an older LR atty. I tend to use more juice now but I think it is because the atty burns more/hotter. In other words, I dont have to draw as long with a debridged atty because more vapor is produced. Yet, I tend to still draw long out of habit. I will get used to it and stop wasting. The flavor is really much more pronounced.

Okay so last week I saw a few posts on de-bridging, watched a few videos and thought WOW I've gotta try this when my atty is more than a week old. Well the thoughts of de-bridging danced in my head non-stop and finally the next day I did it! I just had to see what was up.

Currently I have: 1 de-bridged/de-wicked atty, 1 de-wicked atty, and 1 standard untouched atty. So that I can drip when I want, or run a cart when I want. If you only have 1 atty I would suggest waiting until you have a backup. I have debridged quite a few of them, and have not harmed 1 in the process, but not everyone is as lucky.

Before watching this video I want to post a few notes.

1. de-bridging is only recommended for DRIPPERS only. Once you remove your bridge you can no longer use a cartridge, as there is nothing to get the juice from the cart to the coil, thus will fry ur atty.

2. de-wicking will allow you to both drip AND use carts. So if you do both, this is prob best for you.

3. It is said that 5V and 6V mods run juice hotter, and unless you like hot vape, it's not suggested for vapers running above 3.7V again unless you don't mind a hotter vapor.

4. When doing this, you are doing it on your own free will. You cannot hold anyone who does this correctly as liability to you ruining your own atty. Again I have never screwed up any atties that I've de-wicked or de-bridged.

5. I suggest cleaning a USED atty before doing this as it's harder to pull the mesh out when it has corroded e-juice on it.

Things I have noticed with debridging: Better vapor, tons more flavor... a drippers DREAM! You only need to add 3-5 drops after you've cleaned a bridge-less atty and 2-3 drops when dripping. With my 510 2 drops when low works GREAT. I have had NO leaking and it seems as tho my coil is happier not to mention the flavors of your juices REALLY POP! You can see right down into the lil resevoir to see if you are flooding it, which is also another plus. Aaaaand... you can see your coil directly if you are someone who does a dry burn to clean your atty.

Enjoy!

Any questions just ask!

I'ma dripper..dewicked/debridged 1 510 not my ego's their too new...used cig filters for filler in my carts...cut them to fill the size of cart..and they're great...hold tons of juice get 4 fillers from 1 cig fliter!!!

When i first heard of this technique, i believed in it and gve it a shot with an atty that was giving me problems with 'burnt taste'. Unfortunately, i worked on this atty for days with help of the forum, and i just couldnt get it to perform like it did when it still had its bridge. Less vapor, flavor, so on. There's really no explanation for why it didnt improve the performance.

Which i now know for a fact, because i de-bridged another atty last night. I can finally say from experience that this method definitely improves the vaping experience!

Is it possible that you pulled up too hard on the first one? Also, have you done dry-burns and blow-outs? Generally speaking, once I've done the mod on a previously used atty, I clean it, blow it out and then do a dry burn and it is as good as new.

Bridgeless and wickless is definitely the way to go my friends. Vendors should offer attys that just come like this, but I'm not holding my breath. The atty 'surgery' is really quite simple. Try it, try it! Flavor x 10000000!

I don't think vendors will do it because of the people that try to vape straight off of a de-bridged/wicked atty without putting a drip tip on first and end up burning themselves with hot ejuice.

Usually if you do it to a USED atty ppl complain in dropped performance, BUT...

If you make sure you get all of the wick out it improves vapor and flavor.
If you do an alcohol bath on it afterwards to get any residue left behind it also helps ++
Dry burning before drastic flavor changes improves flavor quality even more.

But yes, when you do it to a brand new atty, you will get 110% from them because there's no wick restricting the potential in vapor or killing the flavor in liquids.

Glad to hear that after you did it to another one it's working as a de-bridged atty should.

Great pic of a de-bridged atty as well! Nice clean pull!! +1

no, also for those just trying this, if you drip on the atty without a tip and you start the atty it is possible to pop hot juice on your face, i know because i just did it, luckily missed my eyeball ! I havent heard of any selling bridgeless but im ready for one.

This actually just happened to me as I was vaping. Straight through the drip tip and onto the roof of my mouth. Made me jump out of my seat.
