Broke my Megaladon during a routine cleaning. The middle section fell out of my hands and fell four ft to the floor. It became caved in where the threads are. I was upset but fuigured I could still use the don in mini mode and buy a seperate middle section later. The same thing happened with the top piece. Hundred dollars gone in less then a min. Not only that but I have no money for about a month. I still have a back up but im in near tears about this. Ive dropped it assembled and had no problems. I guess the the same thing cant be said if its not assembled.

Wow....I like to consider myself a manly-man.....I'd cry

Just one more reason to go SS. I've dropped mine three times now. All three on tile frickin floors. A little time on the buffer made it look like new. Oddly enough, my aluminum one hasn't even managed to get a scratch. The stainless mods really take a beating with little to show for it. That's why most of mine are SS.

Yeah Im going to be out without a nice mod for a while. I called electronicstix hoping that they would show some mercy with there 1 year warrenty (doesnt include damage), but they were very short with me and just kept repeating nope. I understand that it wasn't actually covered, just a little upset that they couldn't be a little kinder. Man this sucks.

The don is back up and running, and with a new finish. I started forcing the mod together, grinding threads (which under normal circumstances you should never do). I though if I could get the threads to reshape themselves, then it would work once again. And after a lot of grinding and cleaning and layers of petroleum jelly, I got them all back together. Then I decided I didnt like my finish, as it tarnished very quickly. So I sanded it with a course sand paper, and finished it off with some fine paper. Now it has a great brushed look, and it is my "one of a kind" don, and I'm glad to have it back.
